The season of Lent, and Bible Study Information!

For the season of Lent, (sundown tomorrow to sun-up Easter Sunday.) I'm going to be doing a fast, which I actually heard about from Goodwone's husband. I've never tried anything like this before, but was interested in seeing if others would like to join me. The fast I'm doing is called "The Daniel Fast" there is a Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Daniel-Fast/175911469098009?sk=wall,

Webpage http://www.daniel-fast.com/index.html

And a book, which I purchased yesterday. I'd love for any company from people who would like to walk this spiritual journey with me; so we may help one another during weak moments and support one another through it. Even if you don't do the fast any kind of support would be welcome. The fast is only drinking water, and only eating things grown by seed. Lots of prayer, and meditating on the Word. I'm honestly excited to see it happen.

As far as Bible study, I've placed it on Thursdays at 6 server, and it will be in vent. I'd like as much participation as we can get. Keep in mind this is a study. There are multiple versions, translations, and copies of the bible out there. As well as each religion holding onto there specific translation.

One thing I don't want this study to be about is the differences of our religious beliefs, but instead focus on the Lord, his word, and how to better fill it in our lives. This should be about understanding the Lord, growing with Him, His word, and with each other as an online religious fellowship.

1 Thessalonians 5:11Therefore comfort yourselves together and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Arguing over which religion is right and which one is wrong will probably be a waste of time, since people will hold fast to their faith, as they should. And anyone who insists on bashing another persons beliefs will be asked the leave the vent, although I don't really think this is going to be a problem.

This is a layman's study (I'm no biblical scholar) and I hope it will be more of a discussion group than one person reading and everyone nodding their heads over vent. One thing I hope to get out of this, is the perceived fear that some have over praying in public, even before raids it's hard to get volunteers to pray unless they happen to be the normal persons who say the prayer. As a fellowship guild I'd love to see people standing in line to offer up prayers for their fellows.

The ultimate goal for all of this is to get a better connection with the Lord and become a better follower.

I hope to see you in vent, and if you would like to pray and possibly join me in fasting I'd welcome the fellowship. (As always consult a doctor if you plan on changing your diet habits)
