Matthew 22
35 One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him,
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38 This is the great and foremost commandment.
39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

I was listening to the radio on the way into work this morning and heard this verse, and decided to do my daily devotion on it this evening on a whim.

It's a very well known passage for the most part, and so simple to understand. Yet sometimes its the hardest thing to do. Neighbors aren't necessarily the people who live next door. They can be co-workers or complete strangers.
Bottom line is that Jesus never says here "love your good neighbors or love your friendly neighbors" it's implied here that we need to love ALL.

I know sometimes I struggle with this, especially if said neighbor has done something to directly effect my life negatively being fully aware of their actions.

Our pastor talked about this a few weeks ago and gave a great analogy that I want to share:

Loving your neighbor is NOT cleaning up after your dog poops in their yard.
Loving your neighbor is not even cleaning up after their dog poops in your yard.
Loving your neighbor is cleaning up after their dog poops in their yard.

I thought it was funny, but so true.
