People talk about tithing a lot. Churches do it when attendance is down or when tithing is down or just because they need a new roof. (Nothing wrong with talking about tithing...) However, what many churches push is the 10% rule. However not everyone is in a financial position to give 10% of their income right away and the church, with all its pushing and prodding on the subject forgets that

Proverbs 17:22 said:
22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Ever wonder why people get so grumpy about tithing? perhaps its because they are not cheerful about it and tend to give out of duty instead of love.

2 Corinthians 9:7 said:
7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

What's the state of your giving heart today?

I think tithing for some is an issue of faith (at least it was for me)
I am disabled and live on limited means.
At first tithe seemed so risky
Will i have enough to live on?
Will people think i'm a bad Christian if i can't tithe?
Strangely it took a leap of Faith for me.
I started Tithing, giving time and praying
After a while i noticed even on my limited income,
my finances seemed to straighten themselves out
So i took this in my heart as a reward for being obedient to GOD.
After all he only wants 10%, Let's us have 90% and blesses us
in a multitude of ways.

For me i had to get over my selfishness and worry in order to see
GOD is always faithful (which i should have known anyways)
But there are some who might not be able to give
But they can Pray and be giving of their time at least.

Remember GOD knows our heart and whether
we are able to do certain things or if we are selfish and lazy.

As for me i was selfish..the only thing that held me back was ME
I can't speak for anyone or judge them
But from self experience "Don't let worry/selfishness hinder you from being obedient to GOD like i had done"

Trust is the key and we know he is faithful.
and be giving of a cheerful heart hit it right on the head

These Verses Helped me with Tithe:
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
Philipians 2:13-14

Great Verse thank you so much..I love when a verse of the day drives me into the word and helps me examin myself
