17 If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need but closes his eyes to his need—how can God’s love reside in him?

A little reminder for the New Year, especially with the needs in cold weather and food stamp cuts. You don't have to be rich to share with a brother or sister in need, just willing to share what you have. You say you have nothing to share because times are tough? How about some time to volunteer to work for the local food pantry, or other church group meeting needs with time invested. In this New Year may we see more clearly how Christ wishes to meet needs through us.

A great reminder, Ursen. In the Greek, that verse says, "closes his heart." You can't have God in your heart and then close your heart to the needs of others.
