That news source hardly seems impartial to me (although, despite the name, it IS only quoting an unnamed "conservative columnist"). I doubt that anti-American demonstrations were perpetrated by Democrats. That wouldn't make much sense since Democrats are Americans also. Some communist groups might have, but I've not met any of those around my school.
I attend Tulsa University, which contains one of the strongest Young Democrats groups in the nation, as well as a very diverse ethnic and religious background (I would estimate, without exaggeration, that at least 1/6 of the students are Muslim). A 9/11 memorial service was held with many speakers (17 maybe), each representing a religious sect-- Quaker, Methodist, Muslim, Catholic, etc. And as far as I know, it did not include any segments that were anti-America or anti-war (unless you count the Quaker speaker's pacifist views, but the RSOF have been ardent pacifists since inception).
