Sorry for my long absence. I have been having to spend a lot of time and hard work refortifying some areas of life that have been seeing heavy battle lately.

Matthew 7:24-25
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man which built his house upon a rock. And the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.

Knowledge is important and necessary, and most especially the knowledge of Christ, but what I want to point out here is Jesus' choice to liken it to a foundation, not the building itself, meaning it is not meant to be an end in itself, but a means to an end. No one puts a foundation in the ground and then parks themselves in a lawn chair beside it to wave at passers-by to exclaim how great their foundation by itself is. They would get laughed at to do so, because no matter how well-done your foundation, it doesn't serve any purpose without any building upon it.
