Goals for March 2010

Stc95

Tribe of Judah Guild Wars Chapter Leader
To increase accountability and to organize my thoughts, I will be posting my personal goals for the coming month and in the future, the goals of the Alliance Leadership, publicly. Note, while these goals are priority for this month, I am currently in the months before AP tests and school will be getting hectic with a research paper, studying for tests, going to WJU to compete for a scholarship, as well as my other duties as CGA TeamSpeak Server Operator. All I ask is for you, the members of the Alliance, is to be expecting these goals, but having grace to understand that life can delay things. Now without further adieu, here is what I would like to see done in March 2010:

  • Getting the Guild Leader and at least one Officer on these forums and the SoE Alliance Officer Forum to finish our networking and foster unity within the Alliance.
  • Look into HsC and HOLY rejoining the Alliance. There has been rumors of this possibility, but there has been no formal approach between SoE and HsC/HOLY regarding this topic.
  • Increase recruitment and members. While there is a solid core of members regularly online during the week, I feel we could use some more new faces and try to get some of our current members to speak up in Alliance chat.
  • Promote more officers. Caro Baro and Speaker of the Moon have quietly stepped down from their officer position due to school and life limiting the amount of time they can spend on officer duties. I would like to replace these two vacant spots as well as add more.
  • Begin formal communications with the MiLK Alliance. I have been going to the MiLK GvG practice sessions with Avenger from LION. The leader of MiLK suggested an affiliation with our Alliance and a future in GW2.
  • Create the foundation and hopefully delegate the new SoE Alliance Website. I need to talk with Ryan of HsC and hopefully work with him to familiarize myself with Dot Net Nuke to begin construction of our new website which will hopefully increase recruitment.

If you have any questions about these plans for March or you are willing to help with anything, please post here or PM me. Thank you guys and girls :)

Yes, so who do we still need Guild Leader wise and Officer wise on the forum, and what time frame are you giving to be completed by? And what happens if your unsuccessful in gaining the attention of the GL's that still haven't been on here or the officer forum? Just asking. ^_^

Thanks for posting this STC. I like that you're taking action to grow the alliance. I miss HsC, HOLY and even LION, although I hear LION is a dead guild now with the last few active players moving to FIRE.

I hope your talks with hsc and holy are productive. I miss them and hope to see their return.

Kryel your questions are very good and I think they do need to be answered. I think this is the weakest part of the alliance, not just in our Alliance but probably in many others as well that have rules. What to do if the alliance rules are broken? Enforcing rules is never fun and no one wants to discipline a member or guild that breaks them. After all, this is a game and games are meant to be fun, not a chore.

So then the question is, what to do with guilds that just won't participate on the forums? Is it important enough to enforce? Are the missing guild leader(s) participating in Alliance decisions in other ways? Perhaps they simply dislike the forum venue, but are active with ingame talks. If they refuse to participate at all, either because of real life commitments or just non-interest then perhaps they should step down and let someone else take over.

or ask them to step aside and have somone else lead their groups [not really a chance in that] i know when i had a guild we would have loved to have opertunity to have a teamspeak and a forum. im thinking GW isnt as popular as it once was and few are playing anymore. we have a bunch of active members but theres even more who are MIA. i had a dream of taking this SoE and building a luxon faction of it by expanding.. but i feel its not possible now due to the lack of finding active players.
i always thought that a boost in events that the alience does may increse activity due to the excitement of being with people.

Good discussion here. My personal opinion is any guild that is a member of our alliance needs to have at least the leadership somewhat active on the forums here. I've posted notices at our old Xfire alliance forum and made posts at the WWJD and LoL forums but have never seen a reply except from Zeena who doesn't play GW anymore.

We need to be able to quickly communicate with the leadership of the guilds if a problem arises. Otherwise the problem can balloon out of proportion and create additional problems.

There are some good folks over at the Guernsey Milking Coalition. It would be fun to do some events with them.

If guilds aren't able or don't comply, the only reason thing I can do is to kick them from the Alliance. However, that is something I'm not looking forward to and there may be other disciplinary actions i can take, such as not allowing that guild to events.
