Make sure to go over the loot rules before the instance, to clarify rules and gain agreement. If an all-guild party has not established loot rules for whatever reason, these are the default loot rules. If you decide to object to one of these rules later in the instance, and the group disagrees, the group/default rule wins.
The difference between BoE and BoP
There are 2 kinds of loot - Bind on Pickup and Bind on Equip. You can see this under the item name when looking at it.
-green or blue, BoE items: Anyone may greed or need. Need is defined below.
-purple BoE: everyone passes - leader queries party to determine who "needs" item; if only one member, that member will receive item; if more than one, they /roll; highest roll receives the item
-green, blue, or purple BoP items: everyone passes - leader queries party to determine who "needs" item; if only one member, that member will receive item; if more than one, they /roll; highest roll receives the item
-It is generally still a good idea to ask before hitting 'Need'.
What is "need"?
a. NEED is when the character you are currently playing can use the item in question immediately and the item exceeds in any way the quality or statistics of the equivalent item that character currently uses, OR is a set item specifically designated for that character's class, OR is a set item that class can use (and is planning on using),
and is not planning to disenchant, vendor, auction, or use it for an alt.
b. If the item is above the level of anyone needing it:
-if that character is the only one "needing" the item, that character receives the item.
-if there are multiple players who "need" the item, only those with the appropriate level to use the item may "need" the item.
-if there are multiple players who "need" the item, but none have the appropriate level, all the "needers" can receive the item if the /random roll is successful.
c. If no one "needs" a BoP item, the Leader will decide whether to have everyone roll for the item itself, or, if there is an enchanter in the party, for the "dust."
d. Again, when in doubt - ask before hitting 'Need'.
Problems in Guild Party Groups
If a party member who is a member of MSC does not follow loot rules, they should be given a warning, and the loot rules should be reviewed. If they agree to follow the rules, continue the party. If the member does not agree, take a screenshot of the incident, then kick the member from the group, and report the incident in a pm on the forums to the guild leader along with a link to the screenshot.
Appropriate Behavior in Non-Guild Groups
1. Always clarify the group loot rules upon joining the group.
2. The guild default loot rules are a standard way to handle looting in groups, and should be acceptable to most groups.
3. You are an example of Christ and the guild, and should always act politely and with respect to other players even if they are not being respectful to you
4. Anyone in the guild who is caught ninja'ing (taking a blue or purple item that is unusable to them and/or without rolling) when there is proof by either another guild member present, or caught in a screenshot by another player, will be subject to disciplinary action by the guild leader.
