I think it depends on the game....

If it's CS, where just a little blood sprays out, I don't mind. If it's UT2003/4, where body parts fly, then I turn it off

But as for Half Life 2, I don't care...I am buying it no matter what.

Most modern games have toggles because of recent lawsuits and parents letters and whatnot... But you also have to keep in mind that if your playing a mature rated game, then expect to see things that the average 17+ person can handle. If you cant, then dont feel bad, its just the way God made you to be a sensitive human being.
