Gator Missile recently sent me a copy of Mercenary Kings (thank you, Gator!) and I'm REALLY enjoying it so far.
Art from the same dude who did the art for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (another fantastic game), solid platforming/shooting gameplay that borrows heavily from classic franchises like Mega Man, Metroid, and Contra, and smooth online co-op make for an experience that's somewhat familiar (though not stale) and fun.
Oh, and there's crafting, too (which helps increase the replayability and give the game a little extra on top of the usual run-n-gun).
The game is still in Early Access on Steam, but I've only encountered a minor bug (looping enemy death animations, which didn't affect gameplay).
