actually the number in the old games was not 150, but 151 just to let u know and yes it is possible to have 151 and 152.
 
well techinically without working a few glitches ur stuck with 150 if u decide to capture the missing number pokemon and some how find a mew (which i did) then u have 152 so really its 150 with optional 152, its kinda wierd but yeah.
 
What about the promotional Celebi in the Gold & Silver versions, and Jirachi in the Ruby & Sapphire versions?  And wasn't Mew a promotional thing for the Red & Blue versions?  I'm confused...
 
well mew was a promotion, hack, and glitch
