Abba San

Legacy of Elijah [LoE] - Proud Grandfather
Independence Day is almost here. It always reminds me of Galatians:

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

Followed a few verses later with:

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13 (NIV)

Celebrate our independence remembering you are free so you can serve in love.

Amen! It also makes me think of the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 16). Jesus made atonement for us and we should celebrate it just like they did under the old covenant! Praise God!

God Bless,
Bill

PS- Are you thankful or just happy?

For me - I am more thankful than happy - but happy as well.

we should celebrate it just like they did under the old covenant!

Do you mean we should sacrifice a fatted calf, i.e. make sure we have a barbecue?
