Proverbs 19:20-21 NIV

“Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”

God often uses other people in our lives to get messages to us - It's not usually God's booming voice from Heaven that reaches us. Listen to advice, for it may be from the Lord. Seek advice from men and women of God, and you may be lining yourself up to follow God's purpose, rather than your own.

"LORD’s purpose that prevails"

Kind a hard to be disciplined and accept others advice when I don't see what is God's purpose. Some times I forget that he has a plan for us. I should always remember that his plan is always the best way.

that's when we get into God's words through Isaiah (chapter 55, verses 8 and 9):

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Whenever I can't figure out what's going on... I try to step back and realize that I'm not supposed to be able to figure it all out
