Nothing really new, it is probably ray tracing which has been used since the early 90s. Of course there are many ways to improve it because some of the existing renderers are noisy.

The problem I have with Nvidia is that they only make GPUs for computers (the last time I checked)... ATI has been making GPUs for just about everything for quite some time now...

Nvidia is currently making desktop, laptops, mac book, iMac, handhelds, home entertainment and game console graphics components. beat that ATI!

ATI has been making Nintendo's GPUs since the gamecube at least...and they did the Wii...Nvidia just started consoles with this current generation of consoles...Plus, ATI makes all pieces of their cards, when Nvidia has other companies making the boards and other pieces...they only make the GPUs...

With that said...Like either ATI or Nvidia is completely personal preference like a Mac or PC...so I am stopping now with the ATI <> Nvidia discussion now...
