and say it doesn't or say i can't get a killer rig, i looked at XP pro SP2 and it's just as pricey as Vista!

What that says to me is:
People would rather have XP over Vista, so MS is keeping the price high because that is where the money's at.

I am taking your guys advice on Ubuntu and i am taking EVERYONE else's advice on getting Vista and dual booting.

you just have to buy hardware with it, some companies don't even enforce it that bad, ive ordered a license of windows with some screws...that almost sounds like a bad joke.
