Has anyone done this yet? Looks like fun. Not a bad loot table either.
 
I tried him two times yesterday on heroic. The necklaces only drop on the heroic setting, the cloaks on normal. He was very difficult. We failed both times. The strategy is to have some dps on the little adds to keep it off the healer, and the tank and some others on the big add, then after a minute or so, the boss becomes a "frozen core", and you all beat on it, after adds down of course. The good thing is that the core doesnt really do any damage, so healers get a chance to rest, but it is only up for 30 secs to a minute. After that, the cycle repeats itself. The best groups get it over in 2 cycles, most in 3. If you need more then that you will most likely have out of mana issues. Make sure to watch out for the swirls on the ground are that indicate where an icicle will pop out of the ground and do around 2500 damage to you. I hope to get this guy down on both my toons, and he is a daily quest now.

We tried that unsuccessfully, we needed better dps, we had a mage, hunter, and a boomkin....fire mage was poor dps & boomkin was worse.
 
Yeah, me Jelnekia, Blubarry(numa), sillypally, and berekiah did it a couple a times, we got I want to say like 2 out of 10 times.
Its a tough fight but I had a lot of fun doing it:)

Yeah, we had a system that worked out very well and we would have dropped him at least 2 more times had communication been working better.

Our initial set up was 3 shammies, 1 pally, 1 spriest.

2 shammies were ele (Jel and I) and then Berekiah was resto.

during the 1st add phase we sent este to take major guy while terascan focused on the big elite, Jel and I used chain lighting to drop adds and help here and there on big guy. Once the big guy was down we all took care of adds together.When alhune went to his crystal phase(phase 2) we consistantly DPS'ed him (using heroism) to below 50%.

One the second Add phase we would use 1 fire elemental via the shammies to assist with the onslaught of adds and to help keep them off the healer.

Once that phase was down alhune dropped very quickly during his 2nd crystal phase. GG Us.

once we lost Berekiah as a healer and had to start subbing out our mains for our alts we failed horribly. There is a trick for each group set up and I think I know what it is!
