i upgraded AVG recently i think...whichever was the free one...but i didnt install it, but....it's not free anymore...or something.....but really as long as some sort of malicious attack can't hurt my ps3 it doesn't matter probably.

My dad used Z/A back in the days when we all had PCs. Yes, the performance drain is substantial. However, we never had problems with viruses or attacks or anything bad like that.

Now-a-days, we all have macs. We don't run any security software, spyware software, adware software, or any sort of defense at all. We have yet to have a problem after a combined 4 years of use.

holy crap i thought ZA was like industry standard and windows firewall an ineffective waste of programming done by M$ O_O . my laptop will thank you after the removal of ZA

I ended up switching to avast after AVG started their highly annoying UPGRADE NOW TO PRO OR YOUR NOT PROTECTED.

Plus you can completely remove some of the junk like the internet mail and p2p providers, which don't do squat.
