Recommendations for car audio?

My guess is so you could mount a dock in your dash rather then having to run it through the front.
Makes sense. I'm just wondering how that would look in my car and if it would make things cluttered. I don't have an iPod and have no intentions of buying one. I have a Sansa Clip 4GB and it serves just fine.

Here are some decks I originally excluded because they only have rear USB ports:
Only the Kenwood KDC-BT838U is priced under $200, though.

My parents have XM because it came with the new vehicle. IMO it isn't that great. The actual bit rate is somewhere around 60-90kbps and it sounds FLAT with a hideous low end. In all honesty it isn't the worst audio I have heard, but it comes close enough to where I would not pay for it personally.

I drive around in a Ford Escape all day on Fridays as my dealership's shuttle driver. The Sirius that comes through that stereo does not sound bad. Also, I have a friend who has an after-market stereo system (head unit and speakers) in his Volvo who pays for Sirius. His Sirius does not sound bad at all. No high end problems or low end problems.

I think it is dependent on the stereo system.

What in the world is a rear USB input and how does it work?

Rear USB is an excellent thing to have as it is essentially a USB extension cord that comes out of the back of the stereo and goes anywhere you want it to go (like hidden in the glove box). It also makes it so that you don't have a USB drive hanging out of the front of your stereo all the time...

Interesting, very interesting. Maybe I'll go with the rear USB port and keep a thumbdrive or my MP3 player in the glove compartment.

By the way, why is it still called a glove compartment? Does anyone really keep gloves in there these days?
