PS: I updated my georama recently to level 6. It's a lot busier now, although I still have a few improvements to make. I need to run around and recruit some more residents - my houses aren't even full and I only have level 1 and 2 residents in there. Once I do a little recruiting I'll have better stats, but right now it's not too bad with what's in the shop/for harvesting. I haven't focused on any given stat yet so they're all sort of haphazard, none really high. I think when I get some residents I'll try to pump up farming pretty high. Might actually be worth questing from to get some mid-level materials.
Georama level 5 requires GR7, but you can go to GL7 once you have GR7. Here's how I'm doing my georama to max potential and spend no money...let me know if you guys have any ideas to improve:
1) Develop your georama 2 level 2 on your main file. It only costs 2k and will open up a ton of extra residents...no need to redo that every time.
2) Recruit all the level 1/2 residents you want. Be aware you can only have 20 residents total though.
3) Make a second save file (so we're not really spending money). Be VERY careful not to overwrite your main file with any of this.

4) Sell all equipment on all characters and storage. None of this can be used to build georama (well maybe if you broke equipment down, but still).
5) Develop land/get job parts/etc. Just build build build.
6) If it will help, go sell all your materials that you didn't use above. You shouldn't be selling any that you need to use because you should've built all that you can, but selling materials might let you bump up a GL.
7) Save your second file in case you want to make changes (residents, layout, etc) later.
8) Sign into georama, go to your home page, and upload that bad boy.
9) Load your main game and give a hearty hero's laugh at how much cash you just saved
