Custom PC

I was thinking of getting a custom PC but I am on a tight budget. I would do it myself but have no knowledge of where to begin. I do see a lot of nice setups but I also know that they are alot of money. Money is the issue for me. If I could find someone that could build one and take a payment plan. But those are hard to find. Most want you to have good credit, which I don't have.

It's not that hard to build one yourself. I did it and I am a shmoe :p (though I wish I had gotten a different motherboard).

I am sure there are plenty of how to sites on the web and everybody here would give you recommendations for parts.

My step-dad knows tons about computers. I could ask him :) He's sartanius in the guild if you ever want to speak with him

My advice would be to wait. If you are in a financial rough time maybe you should just save and not spend. Black Friday is not that far away and you will be able to get a screaming deal that you wont get any other time in the year on gaming rigs from multiple vendors.

If money is an issue, Black Friday is your friend.

True and smart but you are going to want to have a basic idea about what you want/need before the actual sale due to the sale timeframe. I researched what parts I needed/wanted for weeks before making a purchase so you won't be able to cover it all during the sale itself.

I'd play with building a rig or two on newegg.com it hurts nothing and I've seen other people link to their part builds on the forums for evaluation. Getting their ad in your e-mail every week can give you a general idea on current prices too.

As far as actually building one start with the motherboard as it determines most of the parts you will need. I'm out of the AMD Intel processor wars loop so I don't know which is better right now but you'll need to decide between that. Memory wise DD3 seems to have become main stream now so I'd go with that over DD2. Also personally I've been wanting to try a Gigabyte brand motherboard since I've heard good things about them being stable and cheap so you may want to start with them. Regardless of which motherboard you choose I picked my motherboard first then the parts from it's manufactures recommended parts list so the motherboard can dictate a lot.

You're going to have to read up on some stuff yourself whatever you as we can't step by step hand hold you through it. It can be learned relatively easy though I am evidence of that.
