Not Guilty!

Justice served today? What do you guys think? I think the verdict was spot on, but my gut tells me she did it.

Caylee did not receive justice today.

I believe both the prosecution's and the defense's cases were weak. I think the prosecution team did the best they could with the evidence they had but so much evidence was destroyed by nature and time.

I felt disgusted at times by the defensive team's tactics against Kronk, George Anthony, and that guy who happened to get the same phone number George Anthony had called years before he got it, and also the attempt to use a picture of Casey Anthony at age 15 to present to the jury.

This was a case my family and I followed since it began because Casey Anthony so closely resembles someone in my family's life (minus the chloroform and duct tape of course).

If Casey Anthony was convicted she would most likely have been ordered unable to accept any financial gain from her story, but now that she has been found not guilty, she can charge premium rates to any and all media for her interviews, photos, and future liciensing for books, movies, etc. She got away with murder, already has gained about $270,000 from the media of which she paid Baez $85,000 and stands to make a mint on this story.

Question is: where can she go?

She better have a body guard!

I haven't followed it close enough to make any decisions.

I do, however, think it is absurd how our nation watches these things like it's some form of entertainment... its disgusting.

Is it really that absurd? Have you seen how many court room dramas are on TV these days? And ones that span years and years?

Matt Chandler talks about this a lot in his sermons. People are fascinated by justice. We want to see justice (when applied to others... not myself of course. :) ) and its natural that our airwaves and televisions are filled with shows and news concerning these topics.

I tend to agree. The guilty verdict on counts 4-7 indicate to me that she was probably guilty on 1-3, but the prosecution didn't present a strong enough of an argument, and the defense did their job at providing just enough doubt.

I've served on a jury only one time, and that is exactly what happened to us. We all believed that the defendant was guilty, but his lawyer did a better job than the prosecution.

Yeah but did the dogs get 24/7 streaming media coverage and constant commentary from other husky defense experts? I didn't see the iPad app where I can watch up to the minute pics of the dogs hoping to see a change from the same boring hair cut and void look of emotions.

Sorry man, the dogs need a better promoter , they didn't make good entertainment.

I have only heard about this from time to time when I turned on the news (happens less often these days). I did not sit in court and hear the evidence submitted/refuted. I did not witness the crime. I do not know the suspect nor did I know the victim. I DO know that the news tends to spin stories more often then not either to make a point or to generate viewers to increase revenue (often times swinging public opinion against someone before their day in court - they don't follow the innocent until proven guilty standard).

Therefore, based on the items above, I do not feel I am in a position to condemn or praise the decision made by the jury.

What will be telling is after this all dies down whether a manhunt continues for the "real" killer. I find that to be one of the most revealing actions.
