Sony, then Steam... for shame.

If developers really want to move to digital download as a primary means to sell their games... they've really got to get a handle on this.

M$ is still going strong...yay XBOX LIVE! :D Of the 3 major gaming platforms I consider (XBL, PSN, Steam) it's the only one left...lol :D

Unfortunately there will never be completely safe online system as long as there is the possibility of a system being hacked it will be. Anything made of man can and will, given enough time, be broken by man (and certainly God). We cannot create permanence or an absolute leaving us only to imperfection. Rather than put faith in such systems I try to avoid using them altogether but can't always. Unfortunately the masses are hooked on "Convenience" believing yarns about how safe it is, Titanic anyone? Because of that eventually other smarter, safer, harder choices start to disappear. Heaven help us if society goes to a cashless society believing it to be better.

I never choose for Steam to remember my payment data. Here is hoping it actually does what it says.

The people that did the big Sony hack tried to hack XBL right after, and could not get in...so they "changed their mind" LOL!

While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login.

I am assuming Gabe means the next time the Steam forums are up because I just tried to change mine and couldn't. Although it did log me in ok it didn't ask me to change my password nor did it let me access the page to change it.

I'm also curious as to what genius puts both the Steam forums and Steam accounts accessible from the same breach. Why do that when they have completely different logins and passwords?

Wait. So the only group to not get hacked is the one that everyone claims is full of holes and is prone to virus attacks and hacks?

XBL is very very different than Windows... Plus it is the largest gaming platform in the world... And probably makes more money than Windows so they put more time into it...maybe?

Nope - not even close. Last year, Windows profits were $3.2b - Xbox and Kinect together were $679m. That's close to 5x bigger profits.
