Got a 633 mhz celeron with 192 mb ram and 550 mhz P3 with 96 mb ram.

On the 633 mhz pc, I have 2 slots, one 128mb, one 64mb, equals 192mb.

On the 550 mhz pc, It has 3 slots, one empty, one 128mb, one 32mb, equals 96mb?

The weirdiest thing is the 550 mhz pc only reads 64mb from the 128 mb, that is Transcend's 128 mb ram.

I tried it on the 633 mhz pc with the Transcend's 128 mb ram, it wont work.
Used the 550 mhz pc with transcend's memory alone, still reads 64 mb ram!?

Either The pc's are messed up, or the Transcend's memory made it wrong.

hescominsoon's right. older p-3s won't recognized part of your RAM. Also, if your motherboard can only support upto certain memory range <Whon's idea i presume?>. (in this case, perhaps 128mb) thats why it has cancelled part of the 128 off to add up to 96mb. I suggest putting out the 32mb and trying it out again.

Funny how you should mention that, my celeron is a P2.

A 550 mhz p3 beats a 633 mbz p2, what!?

What i'm trying to do is having the 633 mhz have two 128 mb ram equals 256 mb, ITS LIMIT CAPACITY!!!

Seeing how I need that much(from what you people told me)for running Windows XP, Norton Anti-Virus and various ram comsuming programs.

I have used 64 mb from the celeron and replaced it from the transcend 128 mb in the P3, it can read the 64 mb, heh. But when I add the transcend to the celeron, with the other 128 mb in there, computer stalls at the logo E-Machines and the hard drive & cd-rom buzzes.

This is what I know;  The Celeron 633 mhz is running Windows XP (before, crappy Windows ME) from my sister's friend, that you people say is surprising that XP works on a 'crappy'(my word not yours) cpu. And that its a lame Pentium 2!!!

3 years, I've been using a P2!?

ANd its maxmium ram is 256 mb! (Using 192 mb since transcent will not work!)

The 550 mhz is running Windows 98, was actually a cpu in banks (CIBC, Scotia, TD, etc), which a friend of my moms happen to give away for free, thats its a P3, WHAT! and its maxmium ram is 96 mb! (Using 32 mb + transcends 128 mb [64mb due to low density?])

I'll check if its double sided, but I

I did that, still says 64 mb, half of the 128 transcend's ram. real stupid...

but you do...Samus...

Ok...its not double sided, has 4 black chips, 1st one is Labeled, 128M  168P DIMM =Q4  128M PC 133 SDRAM, 2nd is just who made the chip, 3rd looks gone like my 128 kingston mb ram, 4th same as 2nd, 5th is Transcends logo.

Above it all says, 4/8/16MX64/72  SDRAM DIMM Ver:1.6 in white text.
