We will be putting up the 2.2.2 PTR realms later this afternoon.
The 2.2.2 Patch will contain new holiday content for October, first we intend to test Brewfest and then later Hallows-End, but this may change depending on our testing needs.
There will be pre-mades and character copies for 2.2.2. The character copy process has not started yet but will shortly.

Update: The PTR is experiencing technical difficulties and may be delayed. (Source)

It appears that 2.2.2 is going live today (Tuesday, October 2)

Nothing like lots of testing to make sure they don't break anything :p

The patch is a little over 7 megs. I didn't have any problems with the downloader today. If you do, please post here and I'll work on getting something hosted.

General

* Brewfest has begun and members of the Horde and Alliance can enjoy a multitude of activities, quests, items, and even Ram Racing. As Brewfest is about beer and food, revelers can sample the best beverages available in the world.
* Hallow’s End: Observed by both the Horde and the Alliance, Hallow's End is the celebration of the break between the Forsaken and the Scourge. Adventurers can speak to innkeepers to get silly masks to wear during their adventures, and much more. This is just one way to celebrate Hallow's End.
o New Holiday World Event: The Headless Horseman has been seen terrorizing local villages.

My sound still doesn't work properly. I get sound, but casting sfx are very low and/or inaudible. I was poking around the official tech support forums and it looks like Blizz is working on my problem, so I will wait another week I suppose.
