Guys, someone emailed this to me. It was from someone who played on the server, and it was NOT a member:

"You should watch this server. I could not believe the belittling and abusive conduct. I do not see how you can call this a Christian sever. Especially the players with [ToJ] in front of there names. These people where very degrading. I was on your server 3-8-03 between 6:00pm and 6:30pm. Dust2 was the map..."

I am very disappointed. I guess calling people names and "joking around" does offend people...please guys - let's try a little harder to be a better witness. This may be cliche...but what would Jesus do?
 
Can you pull up the logs on that date/time to see exactly what was going on? Just a thought

I think we should find out what was going on, that was 2 hours after the rangers/seals scrim. But i dunno it was them. There has been a lot of people in ToJ crossing the line recently.
 
I would have to say I have seen some questionable activities from many people. But, I do not beleive they were ToJ. I have seen some of what I call adolescent drivel (see the "Your MoM!" discussion). But, that was from both ToJ and others. It is a very blurry line we are walking for sure. My wife does not like me playing my "gun game". So, we must walk with a great deal of caution and error on the side of Christ not funny.

Just my 2 cents.

Ps- Note to younger guys...If you want to make fun of someone make fun of yourself. You will make more friends that way and hurt less people.
 
It just seems that some of the guys on our server don't know how to handle the non-believers that come in the server to make trouble. Mabye (just a thought) we could put up something explaining what to do. I for one usually ignore them, but i have seen some tojers who just want to fight back, and are blowing their witness.

Yes, I admit that I'll kid around with my friends and we'll tease eachother, just kidding around, but I think that could give non-believers the wrong idea about what a christian is. They could think we're being serius. Even if we're just joking around, we have to remember to act christian like.

John 13:35...

"All people will know that you are my followers if you love eachother."
 
I think we need to be carefull about how we interpret this email.

for example.. Some of us joking around and having fun is concidered abuse and misconduct in a certain server (Not ToJ). Are we misbehaving most the time there? No, but the old people dont like it. So they think we are trouble makers.
One's interpertation of what was happening can be completely slanted toward what they want to see.

I have no idea what was going on, cause i dont think i was there, but lets not jump to conclusions and throw everyone under the bus.

It can warrant a slap/slay/kick from any admin under the zero-tolerance policy.

 Unfortunately, I see so-called "belittling" (mispelling?) from fellow ToJers towards either ToJ or non-ToJ happen most of the time when I'm on the server. Sad thing is, when it happens, too often it is NOT just joking around

Not to mention an additional episode that happened just a few days ago (maybe 2-3 days). Two fellow ToJers got into this argument thru voice-comm about words used to replace "bad words" in a sentence. E.g. "crap" instead of "s***", "freaking", etc. etc...

I would suggest ToJers that have questions about similar issues to post in the forums and seek clarification from the general population, and not get into a confrontation during a game when there are other people - believers or non - to see us argue among ourselves.

As for the so-called "zero tolerance" policy, I haven't seen it being applied during the times I've been on the server.

Why would you call someone a "jerk"? Personally, I don't mind "newb" that much (probably 'cos I am one), but "jerk" seems a little over.

I was going to say something like "well, but it would depend on the situation at the time... like if you know the person you're calling a jerk that would be okay" etc etc... but the more I think about it, the more I see no reason to do that. Why would you call a fellow brother a jerk even if you're joking, or anything else for that matter.

Maybe I'm too serious. Let me know if you believe I'm being too sensitive on this.

I don't know if i was even on at that time, but i do seem to kid around a lot (sometimes anyway). I'll stop so much because maybe it can easily be taken differently then i mean it to. People do interpret things differently sometimes though. I was going to 1vs1 nick in a long straightaway in dust2 the otherday and my team followed me and killed him. He consequently took out 2 of my team with him lol. I told him that i was sorry about my team and a player (non-ToJer) got upset at me thinking that i was telling nick that I was sorry that my team were noobs. He told me that I shouldn't call other people noobs and got pretty mad it seemed. I explained to him what i really meant and it cleared everything up.
But still, it shows how things can become misinterpretted.
Another thing is that we can't rule out the fact that it could have been someone emailing that to 'theelite' with the intent of starting trouble. Poeple always come on the server saying things like "should you guys really be playing this game. It does imply killing" and stuff like that so maybe someone was emailing him to start trouble (though it doesn't really seem likely).
With anycase, I will start tuning down my joking around on the server. No one finds me funny or enjoys my speech (or company) anyway... *sniffle, sniffle*
 
guys its tru just call your self a n00b alot and even more and people will laugh at you

on this server 128.163.23.44:27015 -C-D reqed , they have stats me and a good friend of mine and his dad play there(yourmom,(pistolPete on ToJ usually) and his dad is =SS=Extray(something like that not sure of the tag). its a fun server to play on, and somethimes though remember if you say "i have been n00bed" the person who killed you may think u are calling them a n00b it happened to me, with the owner/admin of the server and he got kinda mad till i explained to him what i ment, on Militia i was a T camping right under roof where ladder was and he came and knifed me, and with my bad mouse i could get my gun around to kill him hehe, thenhe got killed by my team just in time ot hear me say that. so if anyone thinks that you are abusing them when you are making fun of yoru self then explain to them hehe.


Also not everyone says they do not like being called names and so forth. Like for instances i knowtice that DG gets"Hit on" alot, my self included at timesout of jest, now then she may not like this, but i have not heard her say it. but that is also something to remember
