Another car audio question...

With my next paycheck I plan on replacing my 1999 Saturn SL2's stock stereo and speakers with this deck (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500CDE102/Alpine-CDE-102.html) and four of these speakers (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SPS600C/Alpine-SPS-600C.html).

I am curious to know if I can use the existing wiring in the car. I know from Tek's thread regarding the topic that many of you have done some sort of customization to your vehicles. If I can use the same wiring it would be much easier and less costly.

Thanks ya'll! XD

looks like it will fit in your car but are you using the speakers in the doors or in the rear? Factory wiring will probably be more then enough for the average user, unless you are putting in subs which require more, also if you are changing to component speakers and your car does not have them (like my 1972 chevelle) you will have to do some wiring.

unless your using subs and an amp, all stock is fine

I used to be heavy into the car audio game. Be warned: it will suck your pockets dry. It is very expensive. Make sure you buy something you will be happy with for a long time. So settle for anything less. I'm not sure what kind of things you want, but if you're not 100% sure about a receiver, step back, breathe, and think again.

The wires themselves do little when it comes to car audio. A lamp cable is just as good as some of that $50 or $100 wire some guys will con you into buying. Your stock wires will be just fine.

For subs, the wire for the audio signal can be whatever. The fancy wires you need are to supply the power and ground for the amp.

I don't plan on spending more than $400 on my Saturn... LOL!

Makes me laugh just to think I'm spending that much on it already...

Reminds me of my first car, a purple Gremlin! I actually spent my christmas money one year upgrading the radio, I figured if I had to drive that, at least I could have a decent radio :)
