Another Reminder

Today on ToJ we had two lost souls talking about worshiping the devil and talking about how Jesus was useless. Some people wanted to ban them and others just kept playing. Now Im not saying that they didn't deserve to be banned because they were breaking the rules but we need to try and witness to these people. Thats how I feel I feel that we should stop everything we are doing and try to talk to these people about do what God himself sent Christians to do, WITNESS and be fishermen of men.

I sometimes wonder if this is a lost cause in ToJ, I just felt alone today besides my comrade boomerang supporting what I was saying to him (n.Beast was his name) and some other guy ive never seen around before. I think we need to step back and see what we are about. I pray that we all get it together and start doing more witnessing and out reach to the lost people of this world.

Hrm...A complicated situation, to say the least. If people are speaking of worshipping the devil in earnest, then I'd be more likely to give them an invitation to either e-mail one of our "elders" or visit our IRC channel to discuss Christianity if they have sincere curiosity. After that, I'd likely ban them permanently from the server.

Every admin has to balance the desire to witness to unbelievers--even rude ones--and maintain the "family-friendly" atmosphere that is so difficult to keep on a CS server.

This is certainly a topic close to my heart, especially having banned so many people who rightly deserve it. I'd like to hear what everyone thinks.
 
A complicated situation it is...we want to keep the air clean of swearing and hatred but yet we need to witness to the people giving it out. Tis a dilima I feel we will forever fight unless we can change some things. Im not sure what to change or how to change it but Im sure HE knows.

My suggestion is pray about it Tek thats all you can do.
 
I don't think I'd would have banned them just for that. I would have told them to end that discussion, and done some slappage and slayage, but they would have had to conisstently talked about it after I told them to stop before they got a kick ban from me. After all that's not blasphemy (which is the one that gets me to ban ppl the fastest ) it's idolatry, but anyways onto the actual point of the post...


Yes we should have witnessed to them. yet the server is not a good place to have a theological discussion, even while dead. The idea about emailing the elders (I know mine and Sun's email addresses are in the MOTD for 'questions about Christianity') is a good one, but you also have to deal with the fact that how many people knows who the elders of ToJ are? How do they get in touch with us (both as a group and individually)? Maybe we could have a listing of the Elders with their IM names and email addresses as well as post the email address of the ToJ-Council Yahoo group (is this still running?) or we could set up an email address council@toj.com which auto-sends to all council members. Just a couple suggestions

Maybe do an admin_tsay advertisement like the donations one saying if you have any questions about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ or comments (adding comments may help) please E-mail ToJ's elders at XXX@toj.cc.

The only problem I find with these suggestions and not witnessing right then is the fact that they have to go through a lot of trouble to find out about God. I think we need to think of something that makes it easier than the email thing. Just can't think of it ATM.
 
y don't we open a new irc chat server where we can join up and answer some questions about God and other questions concerning christianity.
 
Sounds good flash but that doesn't solve the problem of how to witness to them in the server. I mean true they could leave and come talk to you in that channel but some ppl don't have irc and others would simply not come.
 
A lil while ago I started to get a guilty feeling when I played cs. I then relized that I was playing cs for the fun of it. I now try to take every chance to witness that I can. If I'm not doing God's work while playing somthing like cs, I dont think I should be playing at all. I'm down here for God, and to do his work, not to just have fun.
 
that is great dg.. that you are soo into the Lord and His work.. i have had my struggles.. and right now i am kinda focusing on just getting my life centered around Him more than myself.. i hope you witness to many people!

I think there is room for a little seed sowing while playing. Giving opinion and stuff but if it ends up becoming serious maybe we can point them to the forums?

Is it possible to set up a chat here?

I know that i'd love to chat to people while i'm reading?

I also think that some people turn up and mention satan to 'stir up' the christians. You have to deal with those guys sensitively as well. You may find they want to be booted off, cos they don't understand God and try to press our buttons- but really theyre searching.

Then there are some who are just out there to be a pain. Hate God and everything. They need to be banned.

I guess you have to be a little discerning to figure out where they are coming from. Like asking the right questions
