Unusuals have been highly sought after ever since they came out. First was Vanilla TF2 - all stock weapons and no hats or misc items. Next, came the Weapons update where you could acquire new types of weapons. Then the game changer - Hats! Thus, the Birth of Hat Fortress 2! Hats were all the rage until Unusual Hats were introduced. The first 14 Unusual Effects were added to the game with the Mann-Conomy Update on September 30, 2010. And now the never-ending quest for Unusuals that has continued till the present. There are Unusual Hats, Unusual Metal, Unusual Weapons, and Unusual Taunts. Post anything about Unusuals here! :p

Here is a Video that showcases one player's version of the many types of Unusual Hat Effects as of 2014.

UNUSUALS...

https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Unusual

Unusual quality is an Item quality used on cosmetic items, taunts and weapons. Unusual items have special attached particle effects and are considered to be some of the rarest items in Team Fortress 2.

There are currently 469 cosmetic items that can have one of 86 total effects,
56 taunts that can have one of 15 total effects,
and 10 weapons that can have one of 4 effects.

The only methods of obtaining an Unusual item are by unlocking a Mann Co. Supply Crate with a Mann Co. Supply Crate Key (at an about one in one hundred, or 1.00%, chance of unboxing), purchasing one on the Steam Community Market, getting a Taunt Unusualifier as a bonus for unboxing a case, or through trading.

Unlike regular items which can only be obtained from specific crates, any item obtainable in Unusual quality can be unboxed from any given crate. The particle effects obtained depends on the series of crate that the unusual item was obtained from. So, to unbox a cosmetic item with a "Series One" effect, a "Series One" crate must be opened, and so on. The hexadecimal color code for Unusual items is #8650AC.

UNUSUALS...

It's possible to wear more than one Unusual Item at a time. Some Misc Items cover a different area of the body, for example... most hats cover the top of the Head Area but a Mask covers the Face area. This makes it possible to wear an Unusual Hat on top while wearing an Unusual Mask covering the Face.

Unusual Effects also have a height adjustment on the Particle Effect. It's possible to wear multiple Effects at different heights. This Video shows some possible Triple Combos of Unusual Effects. They also show some Particle Effects at different Heights or all at the same Height.
