AT&T U-verse instal

AT&T is schedule to install Friday between 8-10a. What time will they arrive?

Poor Alhana... :(

I was just reminiscing my dial up days. It's crazy that over the course of 10 years my connection has gone up 1000x (56 kilobits to 50 megabits). At that rate, in 2020 I'll have a 50 gigabit line running into my wireless router. Sweeeeeeet...
 
I've got like 6 boxes of Cat5 upstairs, that's like 6000 feet... I'd need a repeater every 328 feet... So that's like 20 repeaters... So how far did that get me? A mile? Alhana, i hope you live within a mile of me... i could put a wireless access point at the end of the wire, that might get you another 300 feet...
 
They were not getting full signal so they had to bring in a specialist.

I did not let them leave until I saw on the meter the speed I was promised.

I was actually getting 50m.
 
I just talked with the guy installing the new internet to our site up here and he is getting 80m even before final tuning and aiming of the radios between sites. And we discussed how easy it would be to get the internet to the dorm rooms for the astronomers and my house! So there is a chance I might be able to hop on that soon and get rid of the satellite lag and have a much higher speed:P
 
Well #1. Please don't hammer on Uverse... I work for AT&T Uverse and our technicians are very swamped with people who want uverse. We currently get about 5 THOUSAND+ people a day that would like Uverse. Think of it as your raiding policy. Good things will come to you in time...
