Hi all,
I haven't been around much lately as my job responsibilities have increased and are requiring more hours. The additional work is actually a blessing, I've been promoted and my boss is seeing value in keeping me around.
That aside I've received a couple of these emails in the last week and wanted to warn people about them. They *seem* legit as they come from noreply@blizzard.com, but any one can fake the from address of an email. In fact all of the listed email addresses in the email are legit, but the links in the email are dangerous. If you get an email like this DO NOT click the links and more importantly do not fill in personal information on pages that those links lead to.
The domain those links lead to is:
www.battle.net.notice-safe-wowaccountadmin.SOMETOPLEVELDOMAIN
(SOMETOPLEVELDOMAIN is there to replace the real domain so people dont copy it and go there not reading the rest of this email)
that domain equals bad, like stand in the fire bad.
Cheers,
Steve aka Lorthis
Heres the text of that email--
