Burning Crusade Talent Trees Revealed!

Blizzard has finally released 6 of the 9 classes talents for the Burning Crusade. Warriors are finally getting the changes we needed. First of all, Tactical Mastery is no longer an Arms tree talent, they have moved it to low on the Prot tree. w00t!!! Also, we get a new ability called Intercede, where we can actually put ourselves to good use besides just holding aggro and keeping the mobs far away from the casters. We can now target a friendly, charge them, and take the next melee or ranged hit for them. You can thank us later, softies. :D

Check them out, there's a lot of major gameplay changes for each class. :)

The warlock changes are very cool - as are the mage changes!

'Locks get a new spell called "seed of corruption". Basically it's the living bomb from MC. As one person said on the Blizz forums, I can just see a player running in terror toward their friends for help after getting hit with this...and all his friends running away from him because of the possibility of him exploding and killing them! Rofl so much fun!

I'm happy with the warrior protection and fury changes, though arms is lack luster. Rogues look to be more of the same with most updates being PvP in nature. It looks like the combat tree will still rule for PvE.

I am thoroughly unimpressed with the warlock changes. While Seed of Corruption sounds neat, in PvE it will break any crowd control. The 2 second casting time and high mana cost will make it very ineffecient unless you have 3+ mobs in range. Not to mention the DoT has to run the full 18 seconds to get an acceptable return on time and mana. (The AoE component is triggered after 18 seconds) How many trash mobs in ZG last longer than 18 seconds? Not many.

In addition, the destruction tree continues to focus on fire spells. This might be a good thing, except the new Incinerate spell has a lower base damage than shadow bolts and the same cast time. Even with the immolation damage bonus it doesn't come close to the DPS of shadow bolt spam (assuming we get at least 1 higher rank shadow bolt by level 70).

The 41 talent in the affliction tree is especially disappointing. A weak DoT that does damage to the dispeller if removed. How long will it take before decursive and ever other mod allows you to disable dispelling the DoT? Not long I would wager. The ONLY potential for this DoT is in PvP and assuming that it is of a magic type. It could be used to prevent the dispelling of any magic effects from a target player. (If you have a corruption, siphon life, and unstable affliction on a target the dispeller might think twice about removing any of them for fear of removing the unstable affliction.) It's a real shame that the 41 talent in the affliction tree is PvP as it is probably still the best tree for PvE. Some of the debuffs are pretty swell for long boss battles.

Demonology looks to be more of the same. The Felguard seems neat, but it remains to be seen how hardy it is and what abilities it has.

I have to say looking at the changes from a pvp perspective I would say that a destruction specced warlock can now completely destory any fire mage, and more than tips the scales in the favor of warlocks over shadow priests. The Nether protection talent is incredible 60% chance to be immune to all fire/shadow spells for 4 seconds after being struck by any fire/shadow spell.

That is incredibly powerful, and I believe it is far too much for a class that already excells in pvp, especially vs mages.

The new Fel Armor spell is also incredibly powerful, again I believe it is overpowered. It grants the caster +100 spell dmg. The Demonic Aegis talent allows warlocks to increase the benefit of any warlock armor by 30% as well.

I don't know I can't help but think that warlocks got an incredible buff. :D

One thing to remember though, the Fel Armor has no actual "armor" bonus. The lock will just have his/her base.

Fel armor is the one thing that seems nice, but it's only a static 100-130 damage bonus (Depending on talents). I would imagine that by level 70, +800 or more spell damage from gear will not be uncommon at all. So +100 isn't really all that much.

I was hoping you guys would talk some Warlock talk. I, for one, like Seed of Corruption. 18 seconds doesnt sound very quick, but if it isnt a curse, you can level a mage is more or less one shot. (As if we couldnt do that before hehehe.) Thats alot of damage if they cant decurse it, and especially if you go Ruin... wow... Thats like a 2000+ crit. Im at work so i cant really look at any of the spells. The computers here cant go to the WoW site. I like the overall changes in the tree. Theyve made the Demonology tree a more damage oriented tree - which I like. Here is my spec I want for Osirys, my warlock.

Out of the two classes I enjoy playing the most, the Mage and Priest, only the Mage Spells/Talents are up. So far, out of viewing these, I can say I'm extremely happy.

Mage Spells

Arcane Blast - Requires lvl 64 - Blasts the target with energy, dealing 483 to 557 Arcane damage. Each time you cast Arcane Blast, the casting time is reduced while mana cost is increased. Effect stacks up to 5 times and lasts 8 sec.

Good, and bad. It says the effect stacks up to 5 times, but I'm not quite sure of the advantage of it stacking. Depending on the stack number will depend on the casting time and/or the mana cost? Maybe, but I'm not 100% sure on this. However a 2.5 second cast time to start is a lot, however it is only 190 mana to do so for an average of 520dmg from the base spell. A great damage/mana spell.

Invisibility - Requires lvl 68 - Fades the caster to invisibility over 8 sec. The effect is cancelled if you perform or receive any hostile actions. While invisible, you can only see other invisible targets and those who can see invisible. Lasts 20 sec.

Great new spell!!! Yes, the downside is you can only see other invisible mobs. This is GREAT for mages who like to pvp however. Welcome the new anti-rogue spell. Cast Invis, rank one frost bolt on the rogue = a fight in the mages advantage. The bad part about this spell however is the 5 minute cool down. This spell has to be used correctly, and can't be spammed.

Spellsteal - Requires lvl 70 - Steals a beneficial magic effect from the target. This effect lasts a maximum of 2 min.

Another GREAT new spell. How this will work, I'm not 100% sure. The idea of it is completely awsome however.

Molten Armor - Requires lvl 62 - Causes 60 to 90 Fire damage when hit and reduces the chance you are critically hit by melee attacks and spells by 10%. Lasts 30 min.

This will help mages a lot in pvp as well. The reduction in crit chance is another advantage that mages get against rogues now as well. At the same time, it causes damage. Brilliant!

Ice Lance - Requires lvl 66 - Deals 231 to 293 Frost damage to an enemy target. Damage is increased by 200% against Frozen targets.

This spell only costs 150 mana and has a cast time of 1.5 seconds. If frost mages can use this to stack Winter's Chill effects, look out! If this has a slowing effect also, look out! Great, great new spell if it slows and can add winter's chill. This will be the Frost version of scorch, and more powerful due to the slowing effect. This combined with permafrost is deadly!!!

I'm liking what I see for pallies too. Although Blizz has stated a vision for healing tank, there are some nice additions to the ret tree. And on the base level side, Righteous Defense, Spiritual Attument, Crusader Aura (really for pvp) and Avengine Wrath are great. But the biggest surprise was Seal of Vengeance which is the first stackable dps boost since they nerfed strikes.

I have messed around with the Mage talent trees around 10 - 15 times and I can honestly say, I have zero clue on how I'm going to spec. I have thought about going back to a Fire Spec, even now. However these trees are so hard to pick from.

Arcane Tree: Arcane Instability, with Mind Mastery, and Slow, look awsome. However, how often would I actually use Slow? I also feel that if I'm speccing this many points into the Arcane Tree to get the Slow spell, 41 points that is, it should effect Bosses in raids/instances. Maybe not to the full 50% of the spell, as bosses should get resistance to this. As we all know, they are immune to slowing effects from Frost bolt, etc. However, I don't have to spec 41 points into the Frost Tree to have a slowing effect on Frostbolt.

Fire Tree: This tree has always offered Mages the most damage, at the cost of a lot of mana usage. Combustion and Dragon's Breath both look great. This allows for a AoE fire build. Start off with turning on Combustion, frost nova mobs, Blast Wave, and Dragon's Breath will = a lot of damage with a good Fire Build.

Frost Tree: This tree stayed the same except for 3 talents, 1 of which I would call worth having, which is the Water Elemental. We do not know how this works though so it's hard to say if its worth having. I'm still wanting to know if Ice Lance can add Winter's Chill. This, in my honest opinion, will be the only reason to stay in the Frost Tree.

This should help. He rocks on his mage.

The new mage skills are nice except invisiblity, 5 minute cool down for an invisiblity where you can only see other invisible people or people with dectect invisible, and it takes 8 seconds to take effect.

Though spell-steal sounds extremely fun. I can just see it now the priest throws up Power World Shield and then I steal it, or the shaman hits a toep and I steal the effect.

Some mage builds I'm looking at trying. The 41 point fire seems kind of low, unless it scales a lot higher at level 70. The Water Elemental looks interesting but I would have to see it in action, I mean can it work as a tank, does it disapear after a certai time. Slow could be fun but the best new arcane one is the 25% intellect to damage. The fact you can get Arcane Power, Fire Power, Improved scorch and arcane instability in one build is intersting thats a lot of damage.

30% + 10% + 3% + 15% = +58% spell damage

Hope that helped :)

Thanks for posting that, however I do not agree with any of those builds. It gives me a starting point however. :)
