BWE Finale Event

Hey guys! What did you think about the finale last night?

I've already heard some complaints, but I loved it. I loved being in the massive crowd charging off to fight monsters. It took me a while to figure out what was going on, but once I did, it was a lot cooler.

I also loved that when you died you became the monsters. That was pretty awesome... (Not awesome that you had to pay to respawn, but it's only Beta money.)

I did not love that I got kicked off mid-fight. Did that happen to everyone, or just me? If you got to stay till the end, how did it end?
 
Yea I got booted mid-battle, but it was pretty fun! I had a good time
 
Unfortunately, I had to sign off about 4 hours before the finale. One of the bad parts of living on the east coast and playing a game build around west-coast timezones.
 
Yeah, I missed it. I wish they did the finales at a better time than 3am Monday morning when you have to go to work at 6am.

I got a illness from a snake I came into contact with. Was very sick.
 
Missed it. It was announced to take place in the Charr area and I hadn't visited that location. So I didn't bother trying to find it.

As a sidenote, I really miss not being able to kill Charr. Papa needs a new pair of shoes. :)
 
I was on an overflow server, and the event started very late for us. The servers were shut down before we were able to really get into it.

Too bad. Sounded like a very cool idea that must have taken them a decent amount of trouble to implement. Maybe we'll get a revisit on the next BWE.

I know what you mean, but in the next BWE make sure to visit the the kitties homeland. You'll be able to kill some Charr over there, Flame Legion to be specific. It helped me scratch that Charr killing itch. :D
 
Did it strike anyone else that it was a little odd for Charr and Humans fighting side-by-side? I know it's been a long time since GW1 and the Flame Legion lost control of the Charr, but there still is a lot of bad blood right? There's animosity between real groups of people that span hundreds of years, let alone different species. I would have thought there be more drama between human/Charr relations, from what I sensed there isn't too much tension between the two.
 
I think that falls under the category of "creative license for the sake of a one-weekend event."

But, yeah, that's kind of the whole plot of GW2... Can these disparate beings band together against a greater evil? I for one, thought the whole running to war thing was an awesome preview of what you hope to be able to create through the game.

I am super-optimistic that ginormous map-wide events will be a regular thing in GW2.

I can just see it now. We are fighting terrible monsters and our party is almost all wiped out. So I go revive the human. Then the Norn. Then the Asura. And then the Sylvari. And then I come to the Charr, wounded and needed to be revived. "Oh, dear, I'm all out of bandages. But I brought you a cup of water. Oops! Didn't mean to spill it on you. All over your fur. From head to toe. I know how you cats hate water." (snicker, snicker).

Or say our party is getting ready to head off for adventure. We running down a road, with this bounding cat getting in everyone's way. Someone shouts, "Dog!" and off he goes, scampering up the nearest tree.

Charr are people! Ha, ha, ha, ha! What will they think up next? Oh wait, do Charr actually think? Maybe we can get some Asura to do some experiments on them and find out. Shouldn't take but a few thousand test subjects. Can't be too presumptuous. :D
 
Now, now, Taran. You sound very much like the scoffers who thought we could never fight alongside a Klingon - until the Next Generation came along...
 
Ok Taran, I see we are going to have a love/hate friendship here, and when i say love/hate i mean i would love to crush you with one claw but would hate to waste the energy on something so small and weak. LOL!!! I will prove we are more the just a pile of kitty's when we hit that battlefield!! Nice example Abba.....who would have thought we could have fought alongside the Klingon...

That pile of kitties reminds me of an escort quest I did last BWE near the Black Citadel. I was the only human in the area, and there were about a dozen Charr players all running around the NPC as he did his rounds.

Apparently, it's not that hard to herd cats after all.
