Can a guy be a "bride?"

We realize that Byblos, like crazy said though if you read it once in the Bible you can find it again. i know i have lots of verses and ideas from the Bible memorized that i use on a day to day basis, but i dont always remember the verses. so i have to go back and do a little study to find it. that is all we are asking that you show us the verses that you use to formulate your idea.

Byblos i am asking you to back up your belief with sound Biblical knowledge, if you can not do it with a believer who accepts your presumpation that God is real, how do you expect to talk with unbelievers and get them to agree that they need Christ? just wondering i am not trying to attack you just to understand why you believe there will be no marriages in heaven.

AHHH OFF TOPIC POST RUN AWAY~~~~

It's an interesting topic though, might be better selection to move it to cga main...

*points up and says Counter-Strike forums*

I told you why, becase I read it in the bible.

Getting popel to realize they need Christ is chowing them they are a sinner and according to Gods law they will go to hell if they Die, so they need Christ for forgiveness.... Who are you to bring these things against me?

Just a college student. if you really think that showing them who Christ is and that they need him or they will go to hell is totally off. Yes that is the core but we live in a post modern world. what is truth to you may not be truth to me.

The good news though is many people are spiritual, just you have to get past the post modern thinking of Pluralism- all view points have equal validity.

Deconstructionsim- reality is only that which we create in our minds through language.

Relativism- everything thing is ok, truth is in the mind of the reciever.

Now you ask who am i to teach this, just a college student studing to be a minister, taking classes geared to spreading the gospel. We all have read many things in the Bible, if it is truely in God's word then you should not have a problem of showing us where you found it? or are you just trying not to open the Bible and look it up to help edify your brothers in Christ

I just dont feel like searching the whole thing....

There is only one truth, one way and one Light. anything else is false. I dont care to know the scientific term for that, God speaks to the heart not to the intilect.

actually, LoJ is right, the Bible is clear that while God does speak to the heart, he expects us to use our mind in service to Him as well.

Verses such as the one found in my sig, indicate that God expects us to know His Word, and Peter (I believe it was Peter, but it could've been Paul) said that we are to be ready to answer and discuss our beliefs at a moment's notice.  Basically, he says that all Christian should have a good understanding of apologetics.

Now the question on marriage in Heaven is answered thusly
[b said:
Quote[/b] ]Matt. 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Matt. 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

The context is when the Pharisee's asked Jesus about the woman who married seven brothers, and in the Resurrection, who would be her husband.

Is it "I" as an individual that is a Bride of Christ, or is it the collective whole i.e. the "Church" that is the "Bride"?  I believe, the word Bride in reference to the Bride of Christ is in the singular.  We know that we are living stones that are being jointly fitted together.  Though, there are many stones there is but one city.  Though we are many Virgins, there is but one Bride, and that is us collectively.  Jesus will be married to one Bride (wife) only.  Just as we as men are to be married to one Bride/Wife.  This to show the relationship of Christ to the Church/Bride. When we gather for the marriage feast of the Lamb, there is only one marriage going on.  That is the marriage of the church of Jesus Christ to Himself.  Of which we are a part of, Praise God!
Sorry, for not expounding more on this great topic of Scripture, but I am just flying through and have to leave.

WOW, Praise God!!!

Byblos you need to know the verses and what you believe otherwise we are told that we are ships tossed about the waves.

your thinking can be this

What shall we say then? shall we go on sinning so that grace may abound?

Yeah more sin more grace, grace makes God look good. so sin more, God looks better. where are the booze and women Ei?

you want a free good software try going to

www.e-sword.net

My thinking is not that. I hate sin and I fight it constantly! our sinning makes god look better then us but breaks his heart. FIght it, Fight the SIN!!!

No I dont have a bible verse to back it up... so just ignore me if you want.

funny if you looked up the verse i used from romans then you would realize how warped the scripture was. how i only used the first verse and didnt finish it

Ro 6:1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
Ro 6:2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

that is why you need to know the word, how can you defend your faith or anything you are a vessel tossed upon the sea, going whatever way the waves desire you to go.

Instead of just copy and pasting Pauls words I said hte same thing but in my own words to show in understood it.

Do not accuse me of lying.
