Thank you Whitestone - I really do think that this is hte most likely result of any work I do here. Of course, there's also the chance that someone on here might still heed the voice of their ancestors and come back to their family - but that'll either happen or it won't.

Yo†una, I don't think you should put to much of a hmm... weight on whats going on in the games.

only games I don't ply anymore is Sacrifice, it grosed me out in a way... and some old games I can't really remember but you kinda had to pray to other Gods in name and I don't like that to much.
Or like ultima where you summon The Guarian of Darkness or have to sacrifice a human beeing to become adept at the art of necromancery, thus giving your life to a guardian of the plane.

Games that has a dragon in them om or use magic, big deal magic is a vauge term anyway it seems.

Quote[/b] ]Before I said the Sinner's Prayer (Romans 10:9) and changed my ways, I played games like DOOM, and in the past, Wolfenstein 3D and Quake. Now, I wouldn't play those games. I'm even unsure about Spyro, since he's a dragon, and in the first Spyro game there's a world called Magic Crafters.....
Dude, you were a Christian before. Anyway, it's not a sin to play games like those. As long as they don't get in the way of your realationship with God, they're fine.

You also have to be sensitive of another's reasonable convictions.

(I say "reasonable" convictions because there are some of you that would pull out the "What if I feel convicted to murder someone" garbage.)

My rule for games: applying 1st Corinthians 8 to each based on content and who else those games may effect (such as my younger bro and sis who watch me play them from time to time). Nothing more.

Well, I've been taught that God see's Jesus' righteousness in us, instead of our sin. So if we have Jesus' righteousness in us, we will be blameless.

Quote[/b] ]I like to think I do a bit of both. Since I came here thinking you bunch were a dangerous anachronism that ought to be locked up so that decent and undamaged human beings wouldn't have to rub shoulders with fundie weirdo's, I like to think I've changed my stance quite a bit!

What do you think?

^heh, not you eon, my post is late.- incase you were wondering

That's not always true. You could play violent games, yet you could be one of the best Christians in your neighborhood/city.

Ok, how about this. Can you play violent, immoral, un-Christian games while loving the Lord your God with all your soul, all your heart, all your mind, and all your strength? I don't think so. Diving into a world of hate, revenge, and sin cannot co-exist with the greatest commandment.

How are you diving into a world of hate, revenge and sin? By playing games you're actually NOT diving into the world of hate, revenge and sin that you might dive into by hanging around your local 7-11 or by joining a local church group.

When you label the basic human drives "sin" then it's no surprise that you'll find them wherever you find human beings...
