Chromatic Cloak?

Is the Chromatic Cloak worth the Mats its made of?

Is having the Chromatic Cloak worth it? I have the Heliotrope Cloak, which is very similar.

Chromatic Cloak - Mats for the Chromatic Cloak: Black Dragonscale - 30, Red Dragonscale - 30, Rugged Leather - 30, Brilliant Chromatic Scale - 12, Cured Rugged Hide - 5, Rune thread - 8.

honestly I would not go for the chromatic cloak if you have the heliotrope cloak. The heliotrope is on my list of things to get and I will be happy once I have it....

Actually the mats are quite easy to get, I could get you the materials in about 2-3 UBRS runs. In one run I can get about 10-15 each of the black & red scales. The hardest ones would be the brilliant chromatic scales as they are a drop. Right now though Gnimish is wearing the Stormpike Sake Cloak, but I was looking in to get him the Chromatic Cloak, which would bring his crit rate up to 12%. Which right now its 11% but I crit more often then that.

A high crit rate in my book is a mage's best friend. I can easily in 3 crits do 4-5k damage. Which I crited on Drek'thar the other day for 2k with a fireball, my largest ever.

Also I'd choose Chromatic for the extra little boost in resistance, every bit helps.
 
Bannard can make the cloak...contact me if anyone wants it made...mats must be provided of course.
 
I'd go with something with +damage instead of crit.

If you're fire specc'd, you're crit% should be ~17-20 which is enough to dish out some ownage- ignite o.O

If you're frost specc'd, crit should be the least of your worries since you have winter's chill and shatter.

The 1% crit will not be too noticeable unless you stack crit with your other items. But +spell damage would be of more use to you.

Do you want it for your warlock or your mage? Because that can make the difference.
 
Don't get this done, it is not worth it. the only Cloak worth making IMO is Hide of the wild, but that is only for healers, but it is so good that you won't get anything better in MC and Onyxia, they are almost the same and Hide of the wild is still better.

Aim for the Sapphiron Drape from Onyxia, they are really quality and it drops a lot.
