Hey everyone!

FailedShots post got me thinking... If you read a good book, why not write up a small review for it and post it here? That way, those of us who take time offline, can have something good to read... Wht do ya'll think?

Also, how many of ya'll go to a library anymore?

:) well i go to the library at least once a week

i love books (fantasy are my favorite but i also like thrillers and law books)

some of my favorite authors are
dean koontz
j k rowling
garth nix
john grisham
jimmy buffet

o and of course i enjoy reading the bible

and those cool translations

ill prolly think of more
hahaha

I go to the library when I want to read a book before possibly purchasing it....or when I get a wild hair and decide to go get some random books! I like the ones on philosophy and religion the most!

of course I have also begun reading different versions of the bible and collecting different versions...from children's bibles to teens bibles to study bibles to gift bibles.....I am really enjoying comparing the different versions.

I used spark notes a lot in high school, mainly because we would have quizzes on the material and I had issues with reading comprehension - so to improve my problem (to alleviate a possible headache) I just read the spark notes or cliff notes and aced every quiz....now when it came to writing annotations then I would actually read the book - but then again when I was required to write an annotation usually the book was more enjoyable....

We had to read Crime and Punishment last year...I knew I would hate it right when I saw it. I read all the cliff notes and analyzation and got an A or B on every quiz. While the person who actually read the book got a C or D. She hated me for that.

I go to the library a lot. But if I have to read a a book for AP English, and I don't want to read it I use www.sparknotes.com.
lol. i only go to the library for school related topics, otherwise i just buy from a bookstore if it's an advertised book :P

by the way, i have read this awesome book... oh wait of course i read it/think it's awesome I WROTE IT (but it isn't finished >.>)

a fantasy series i liked was Sabriel/Lirael/Abhorsen.....
failed shot listed the author of those: Garth Nix

I am banned from the library due to my inability to return books on time. Well, not really, but the fines are more than purchasing the book, so I usually just wait for the paperback or ask for books for holidays. Right now, I am really enjoying cookbooks. I love regional cookbooks.

I would like to recommend 30 minute meals by Rachel Ray. Any complete meal that can be made in 30 mins is excellent IMO. I have also enjoy the Barefoot Contessa cookbooks. Her recipes are a bit more involved, but definately worth it. Plus, not only do you get to read and use math skills, if you are cooking with Little Ones, you get to build/further establish relationships.

For a research paper during my spring semester I requested over 70 books from my Library and all its affiliate branches. Didn't even have a late fee either. THough they wouldn't let me check all 70 out at a time. :( Max of like 15 or something like that... I told the Library that i needed a Gold card for the Library and that I should be able to take all the books home.. THey of course laughed and said No.

!!!!!

all in good health, friends =D

I go to the library all the time. No movies there though...

Actually, I take it back, there are movies, but they're all subtitled/voice overed in Spanish.

I love the Library with all the versions of the bible and many helpful Christian books. Oh yeah CDs of Christian music as well as movies on VHS and DVD.

A library is a labrinth of knowledge but Ecclesiastes 1:18 says - "For in much wisdom is much vexation, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow."

And yet again look what Ecclesiastes 7:3 says - "Sorrow is better than laughter, for by sadness of countenance the heart is made glad."

True knowledge is the Word of God for in it is wisdom that preserves the life of him who has it.

Jesus Christ is the truth, the way and the life. Because I have Jesus Christ I am preserved for all eternity.
