After his first day of Catholic school, little Zachary came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't even kiss his mother hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying. Books and papers were spread out all over the room and little Zachary was hard at work.

His mother was amazed. Before now, he’d never wanted to do his homework or study, and had always done very poorly in school.

She called him down to dinner. To her shock, the minute he was done, he marched back to his room without a word. In no time, he was back hitting the books as hard as before. This went on for some time, day after day, while the mother tried to understand what made all the difference.

Finally, little Zachary brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on the table, went up to his room and hit the books. With the usual trepidation, his Mom looked at it. To her great surprise, Little Zachary got an "A" in math, the same subject he’d flunked the year before. She could no longer hold her curiosity.

She went to his room and interrupted his studies. "Son, what was it? Was it the nuns?" Little Zachary looked at her and shook his head, no. "Well, then," she replied, “was it the books, the discipline, the structure, the uniforms? WHAT WAS IT ALREADY?"

Little Zachary looked at her and said, "Well, on the first day of school when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around."

Whatever your motivation may have been, those of you who have worked hard in your studies and reached the point of graduation deserve our acknowledgement and congratulations. I’d like to encourage all graduating seniors and everyone who will receive any degree this Summer to post to this thread – tell us where you’re graduating from and when, and let us know where you’ll be attending further school or working.

Haha, good one!

I won't be graduating until December (Got a couple more classes to finish), but I'll be getting an Associate's Degree in Computer Networking from Quinebaug Valley Community College. I'm still not sure where I'm gonna transfer to for my Bachelor's though...

AWESOME THREAD

Your desire to work with and mentor teens is truly awesome, as well as your ongoing studies in Welding. I'm sure Welding is a craft that demands patience and great attention to detail. That's why I'd never be able to do it! Great going on your degree!

Wow thanks for remembering.

I will be graduating from Lee's Summit West High School.

After graduation will attend college the following year on A+ scholarship, scholarship that gives you 2 free years at a community college...really easy to get, just have to do 50hours of community service, have 95% attendance and 2.5gpa.

That is a great deal! Kinda funny that they call it an A+ scholarship but you can have a 2.5 gpa and still get it. Lol - my own High School GPA was probably right around 2.5, but I graduated college Magna Cum Laude and am carrying a 4.0 average halfway through grad school. Obviously grades /by themselves/ aren't a good indicator of aptitude for higher studies. But a student who is actively involved in community service, diligently attending school 95% of the time and with passing grades is an A+ student in my book!

Great going SP, congratulations on your scholarship! I've seen your intelligence and resourcefulness displayed many times in game, and I'm sure you'll do well at whatever you pursue.

I'm proud to announce that my wife will be receiving her Bachelor's Degree from Bellevue University in June. Congrats all!

Thanks dorkelf,

My Church back home just put in College courses from a place called Beacon University. I will be getting my degree someone how from there. I still need more information on what exactly what courses I need to take but GOD will supply. I try my very hardest right now to try to be the best Christian I can be. I want to be a mentor to Youth and truely have an unexplanible love for them. Its just amazing on how I see kids and I just start having all this love for them. I feel this is my personal purpose that GOD wants me to do is preach to Youth.

I thought the same thing when i heard of the program. I was like man theres no way ill get straight A's (i usually get B's and A's :o ). Then they said that it only requires 2.5gpa, makes it much easier to get.

Congrats to those grads from college!!!
