I played through both the Starcraft and Brood War campaigns and don't recall any references to witchcraft.
While Starcraft and Brood War feature fantastic single-player campaigns, the larger draw of these games is the multiplayer community. More than a decade after the release of Brood War, you can still find a decent number of people playing Starcraft on Battle.net any given day. Few games have that kind of lasting power.
