Disc Priest

Blizzard did well to make Discipline Tree very different from Priests Holy Tree.

Pain Suppression is a pseudo Shield Wall and that's good.

Inner Focus has a much shorter CD than it did in Wrath and should probably be used much more.

Renew does indeed suck as Discipline.

Penance is probably still one of the best healing spells in terms of its healing numbers to speed ratio.
 
If this will alleviate the stress I have from watching your mana bar drop like a rock in battles I am all for it!

For Ozi, his flash heal only costs 200 mana more than his greater heal, but is over a second faster to cast. How is using greater heal more efficient?

I've played Disc as an alt spec since TBC...primarily as PvP however when dual-spec came out I healed heroics in wotlk and now I'm healin dungeons on Gnimph as disc albeit he's only 82 atm and I'm only doing normal dungeons. Anyway I've yet to run into into any mana issues as disc or heal issues. If melee stay in the ooze I'll bubble and renew them if they don't get out I let them die.
I'm never using greater heal atm.
I have inner will and prayer of healing macroed for a free AoE heal w/ a hot effect(its glyphed) every 45sec, my glyphs are the penance, power word shield and poh as my primes.
As far as healing goes I throw up shield, when it breaks i hit renew, pom, and rotate between flash heal and penance until the shield debuff drops, i keep pw:shield up as much as possible on the tank, throw in a free AoE heal every CD and the grp stays alive. It may change in heroics but right now its working for me. I have a 298 avg gear lvl w/ 4k spellpower, 45k mana and about 22% mastery..I like disc..holy seems inefficient

What I missed was a 100% chance to reduce the CD for Inner Focus by 5 seconds when you heal with Greater heal. After I realized this, I respec'd Ozi (and fixed his glyphs... /embarrassing) and experimented.

While I was test healing with Greater heal nothing happened to my CD for Inner Focus (additionally when I used smite, nothing happened to the CD for penance).

Is train of thought broken?
 
I have started getting used to the new rotation and actually love the set up.

It is greatness using cool downs and getting free heals!
 
I'm also using the new rotation and it is wonderful.

Last night some of my guildies and myself went through heroic Halls of Origination... during the entire dungeon not once did Train of Thought proc. Icthus, you said it procced for you several times. How?
 
I dunno. Procs for me all the time. My timer drops 5 seconds about every 4th or 5th cast?

What is your item level?
 
If you have 2/2 train of thought when you smite you have a 100% chance to reduce CD of penance by .5 seconds. It works fine for me, there's no proc chance, it just happens always.
