Does the Gmaing World have the chutpah to stop this?

MW2 Dedicated Servers Created/Hacked

Apparently, MW2 has been hacked to point that now it is possible to get the developer console, and people are now running the game as dedicated servers with gameplay tweaks such as low gravity, infinite ammo, etc.

Here is the youtube video showing this (NOTE: a couple of bad words in the in-game text chat): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rqLUDfl26Y

Maybe they can add lean back in now....

I was wondering if anyone intended to attempt to reverse engineer the IWNet servers. Maybe now they won't have to.

Why? That video you just saw, all the scores goes to the official rankings.
I meant that I thought someone would try to reverse engineer the official servers rather than patch together a makeshift dedicated server--something more along the lines of bnetd.

How long does it take VAC to ban someone? A week? Two? Some of these MW2 guys may be thinking VAC doesn't see it since it hasn't taken down anyone. Time will tell though. :O

I think it's pathetic that gamers had to do this in the first place.

I'm still not buying it because the company hasn't fixed the game... I don't think gamers should be handed an incomplete game and have to finish it themselves.

Only if they spent more time on the PC version...

Isn't it a bit late to be complaining about Quake III?

...Oh, wait.

Eh, it depends if they found a way to bypass VAC. Who knows.

Okay, bets on what previous functionality in MW1 will be included in the next MW2 hack.

How about lean controls?

Just to let you know, the hacking community already unlocked the dev console, aaannnnddd successfully created their own dedicated servers after unlocking it. The servers have all the commands servers in other games have. Don't know the max number of players. Also, these servers connect to IWnet leaderboards. LOL. It breaks all of IWs legal rules, aaaannnndd it still connects to IWnet.

I have to wonder what the ratio is for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC copies sold. Sure, the game is a tremendous hit on the 360, but console gamers are accustomed to a less robust multiplayer experience. PC gamers are more demanding (and understandably so, since keeping a PC current enough to play the latest games tend to cost more than a 360 or PS3).

I don't have any issues with the 360 and PS3 versions of the game. My problem is with Infinity Ward basically slapping a $60 price tag on a console port, which is a slap in the face of PC gamers. That's why I suspect the PC version sold only a fraction of the number of copies of the 360 version.
