The Last Hierophant is a Norn quest I've never completed. I've done the first four bosses - but not Duncan. I want to see him die.

It may take some prep time to get a team together to kill him...so we are beginning now. There is a slim chance we may be doing it this week as the Friday event. You can check that thread as well.

Anyone who needs the first four quests - chime in. Some of us are willing to help you get those done. The first four can be done in normal mode and Duncan in hard mode to get hard mode credit for the whole quest.

The Zaishen Bounty TODAY (March 1, 2011) is Duncan the Black - pick it up.

Big time Norn points for completing this quest. Also necessary for a complete Master Dungeon Guide storybook. So have your Dungeon Guide HM with you when we do Duncan.

Anyone who knows the quest - build ideas or strategies would be appreciated.

Let us hear who wants to join the party when we go.
 
I need help leading up to Duncan, but I'm willing to try, Ursina is getting less enthusiastic about dying, but is curious about this Duncan feller.
 
I need all 4 on my rit...I call dibs on SoS. :) I'd be up for a coordinated effort for knocking these out over the week. Should be able to knock out one or two at a time then nab Duncan. We could even get 2 done between now and then and then just go for it. Cons do wonders.


A few general strategies I'll throw out there:

General Slaver's strategies:
I often see frozen soil suggested for Slaver's strategies due to the presense of enemy resurrections. From what I've seen in the past, this has worked against us much more than it has helped us.

Strategies for Duncan:
I see a lot of things here, too, often heavily crippling one of your party members for most of the dungeon. These two are sufficient:
Swap (for moving all the spirits out of the way)
Broad Head Arrow (he uses all spells, you have 8 people attacking...daze will do the job, I think.)

Just be aware of his Duncan's Defense skill, which acts as a perma pain inverter. If you dump savannah heat on him, you'll be hurting. Just move the spirits out of the way and try not to kill yourself. The idea is to have everyone doing some damage, but not too much that the monks can't keep up. We could sit in an EBSoH and wand him to death if we wanted.

Dang! I wanted SoS.....hey Ryan! Just bring your SoS and use ALT as your push to talk again. I'll bring a backup SoS! :D


I'm up for this. I'll have to check which characters have done it and which haven't. I know Amethyst has completed but I think she has several Slaver's Boss Bounties in her quest list. I'll most likely need all 4. Alexx, my crit barrager may also be prepped for Duncan.

Ouch, that hurt! I could always roll DWG or /R barrage. No qualms there.

Kyrel, Wes, and I rolled over Thommis/Rand/Selvetarm tonight. Slaver's isn't what it used to be. We'll hit Forgewight before the week is up.
 
I wiped badly on Forgewight last night, forgot to take condition removal, and with a Splinter/Barrage build couldn't put enough hurt on the dwarves to take them down fast enough. Ursina is also pretty mad about the fact I didn't take the right cons down and wound up with Heroes at 60dp. Got the boss door open but Ursina was furious about being stopped there.
 
Ursen, do you have anything other than Forgewight you need to do yet? I'd be happy to help out with that one (or any additional) between now and Friday. I tend to find a BHA + epidemic ranger is handy on Forgewight, especially for the boss himself.
 
That was Ursina's first foray into Slavers Exile except for Destroyer weapons, need all the ones prior to Duncan. She was using her UW build with Technobabble, Pain Inverter, and Ebon Assassin on it.

Not available Diana, or because you didn't finish Forgewight yet? Would be happy to redo that one.

Aside from Abba, Wes, and myself...who is ready (or close to ready) for Slaver's this evening? If not tonight, I'll be doing this sometime this weekend for the double points. Don't mind redoing later, or helping with sub-areas in either.

Ursina is getting gun shy with the new Survivor rules, she really, really, REALLY, wants the title so she only wants "safe" stuff to do. Although me thinks if asked about certain ones like Fow she might go for that.
 
What's not safe about Slaver's Hard mode? We all run death nova and heavy saccing.
 
Wanted to add: not sure I'll be on right at the normal event time, but shouldn't be too late. Hope to see folks there.
 
If I'm not there at 5:30 - don't wait for me. If I'm not there it means I'm not going to make it at all.
