Election of GM's

We are in the final stages of deciding how to move forward with implementing new GM and officer structure. Here is the thought on electing the new GM council.

A 7 day election process, Saturday to Saturday.

All voting will take place in game via the mail system.

You will mail your vote to an election official. You get three votes. You would vote one- GM and two Co-GM's. So a ballot would look like-

Hobbes- GM
Snoopy- Co
Woodstock- Co

The votes are then tallied at the end of the week and GM's are installed.

The GM's will then put a process together for filling the rest of the officer core.

I think this sounds pretty good. It allows for members to submit a vote that can't be seen by anyone else. Just one question....will nominees still be able to vote? It would seem kind of weird to me if we do....but that's just because for most voting things that I have taken part in, we ask the nominees to leave the room while we tally votes.

Hey guys and gals!

Sorry I have'nt been raiding mush lately. Really busy with my thesis and finding upcoming job for next year. (RL gettin in the way)... Also, we have to get the siding on our new church building before winter sets in to strong up here in Wyoming.

I would really like to vote. Whom should I send my vote to in game?

Thanks and God Bless!

Once we make contact with all those who were nominated we will begin voting. We do not want to vote someone in to office who will not serve.

Yes everyone will get a vote Meli and you can vote for yourself.

Once GM's are elected a similar process will be used for the rest of the officer core.

In all fairness, the process was not defined or limited. Using collusion to get friends into authorative positions is a process, not necessarily one that you would use, but legitamitly a process none-the-less. Depending on who become GM and Co-GMs, there will be a bias as to who they want to see on council or in officership.

What ever the process is that the GMs and Co-GMs decide, it would definatly have to be a transparent process, one in which people will see that no colussion is taking place. The ideal of using the in-game mail system to cast votes and ballots is a good one if the electorate feels the person they are sending their votes to is an impartial person. If people do not see said person as impartial, you will have wild accusations flying all over the place.

Votes should be sent to 2 ppl for accountabilities sake. Having it be in-game mails makes sure the voters are members of Redeemed.

Discussion is good.

Posting what someone has deleted is bad.

I was quite obviously posting at the same time as you were editing your post. If it was deleted I couldn't have quoted it then. As you deleted your copy of the quote from my previous post I will do the same.

Three thoughts...

Sending mail to two people could be clunky. I'm a big fan of the honor system. (And I'm lazy...)

The person collecting all the mail should not be a nominee.

This is the funniest thing I've ever seen... click here

Of course nominee's vote for themselves, who do you think President George Bush was voting for when the press gathered to take pictures of him at the voting booth? The other guy?

Avesther, I think your signature should just say "Smooth Jazz".

PS, I'm going to vote for myself. It may be the only vote I get!

whos on the ticket, like can i get a icthus odale and myth representing daoc values? or like a icthus mirakle treebanch represstnin No Cal values?

LOL...

That is funny and scary at the same time.

The "ticket" has no parties. The nominees are listed else where.
