Electoral Status

I found this site recently.  It gives a non-partisan estimate on the coming election, and its estimates are pretty accurate too considering how often they update.  Give it a looksee.

Uh. No, it is not meaningless. I am well aware that this does not account for absentee votes--in fact it makes note of that right on the main page--but this gives us a very good idea of what the homeland votes are going to be. And if you are reacting this way because it projects Kerry as the overall winner atm, perhaps you should take a look at its final projected map....

There are several states it has just bearly winning for either canidate. That in no way makes in an accurate poll. and some of them are tied? those votes will be counted for one or the other. whether it is 1 vote or 100 votes, the projection is off. Based on those two things alone you can throw this election either way...and based off the data from that site, the 3 equal aprox 150 electorial votes.

Of course they can throw the election either way; it's going to be another close one. The reason it says that the two are tied in some states is because it's based on percent. They're gathering the data from various groups around the country in every state, and since no one's doing as in-depth polling as will be administered during the actual election, this sort of estimate is the best we're going to be able to get. Sheesh people, give it some credit.

lol, don't get testy.

While it might be valid information, there is way to much uncertainty in too many states for an accurate picture to be drawn. I never said it wasn't creditable.

sheesh, don't read more into a post than is there.

Uh ohs, Bush is ahead in Florida by a bit now... Once again folks, whoever wins Florida will win this election. Lets hope there's no crazy recount business this time around...
