Anyone interested in helping me win tomorrow's fishing contest in STV? I'd love to snag that +35 fishing pole one of these days.

EDIT: The contest begins at 2 p.m. server time (4 p.m. Central), correct?

Yeah the contest is at 2 server, unfortunately the contest is pretty much a solo thing since the fishes are BoP. The other person can only grief the horde from the pools.

Okay, cool, I figured the fish were BoP.

I'll still be putting out a call for any bodyguards (level 45 and higher) who want to protect me from would-be Horde gankers at the contest. If you want to bother the Horde fisherpeople, too, that would be fine. :D
 
Grr. Winning the fishing contest requires at least a few people to help you: a few to slay any surrounding Horde and prevent gankage, and one or two to scout in front of and behind you for pools of Tastyfish.

Considering how frustrating this last experience was, I think I'll skip the contest for a while, or at least until I can get several guild PvP fans together on a Sunday afternoon in STV.

EDIT: Just for the record, I had 24 Tastyfish when the contest was called, and that's after getting ganked by a Horde and having to run back to my corpse.

Going to be a long time until I'm 60, and I need something to do while I wait for battlegrounds to pop. Might as well fish and make some gold. :D
 
I had 38 fish the first time I lost the contest.. won it the second time I did it and got the trinket, next up arcanite fishing rod whenver I get the time to actually go to the contest and win it. It's a really fun event imo, I didn't experience any gankage, ran into a few horde that were fishing did some emote spams to each other and went our merry ways.

If two opposite faction sixty's see each other fishing they both know its better off not bothering to gank cause of the contest (unless they're just griefing people). However if a 60 sees a lowbie beside a scool of tastyfish, I don't think he/she will think much other than ganking and ninja'ing the pool.

I would imagine this goes for Deviate fishes as well. I know I would kill any red lowbie fishing my ponds...
