Fissure of Woe - the faster way

Legacy of Elijah Guild Leader
First, I'm not wanting to get organized alliance speed clears going.

I did want to touch on a few points for those who have done FoW and would like to score some phat loot faster:
1) If anyone is comfortable with Tower of Courage quest at the start, get to and clear/defend the forge, and do the wailing lord/griffon quest in the forest, I can do the rest while you're doing that and significantly reduce the clear time.
This is not a speed clear....think of it more as a "half clear", though it is definitely speedier. Balanced team works fine.

This requires at least 2 players (aside from myself) to form the main team of 7. I wouldn't recommend this as someone's first clear, because it takes away a bit, I think.

This method should take a little under an hour to clear normal or hard mode.

2) If anyone is interested in learning or doing FoW SC, let me know...it would be kind of nice to get a few folks interested. It really isn't very hard, just takes a few times of practice and you'll get it down. Originally I was just trying to kill time for drunkard minutes on my assassin, but it's actually much more fun and feels a lot less "farmy" than I thought it would.

The main build is here, with helpful walkthrough videos:
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_FoW_Manly_Spike

This method typically takes 25-30 minutes to clear in hard mode.

Any interest?

I don't have an Assassin nor a Ritualist. I do have a Monk but I'm untested at healing - I generally run a smiter.

Otherwise I am interested in learning the FoW run.

That's precisely reason I mention the "half clear" option - all we need is 2-7 balanced people or heroes, and we can still save a lot of time and clear very efficiently. No gimmick builds or dictating what people run needed. I already know the sin routes, and can run them both.

From the SC standpoint, I'd break it out like this:
Warrior - 100b Warrior
Ranger - EoE or T2. They can run R/Rt and fill the EoE role, but don't see this often and might have trouble finding a pug. R/A T2 actually works very well and fast.
Mesmer - Me/N for mark of pain role
Necromancer - N/A Mark of Pain is most popular
Monk - UA heal role
Elementalist - I haven't seen anyone play ele on this run
Assassin can run T1,T2,MT, and often run 100b. Easily the most versatile here.
Ritualist - Rt/R EoE is the only role I really see them run
Paragon - I have never seen anyone run a paragon here
Dervish - I have not seen any role work well for Derv, but expect this to change within the week. stay tuned.

Assassins/Warrs/Rit/Necro/Monk is what works best, and Mesmer/Ranger can fill in a few spots. This is the main reason I don't want to try to work this as an alliance thing - very little flexibility. A SC is set up to work well with what is completely optimal...hence doing things as fast as possible. My goal in mentioning it was to teach folks how to do it if they were interested, and maybe start with part of a group to do it, which would reduce the time (and pain) in finding PUGs.

The necro part of the FoWSC sounds up my alley and not much to obtain in the way of skills. I'm not sure how often I'd be able to join though...

FYI, as suspected Dervs now work for a FoWSC team. I'm not sure how much more they can do at present, but I can tell you they work well as a replacement for a 100b.

Vow of Strength + Aura of Thorns = big spikey.

Should add 'cause I've gotten a few questions/confusion: for a true "speed clear", yes, we need pretty specific builds. For what I'll call a "half clear" or "semi-speed clear", any (decent) build would work fine.

I'd like to try to set up doing a half clear sometime: all we need are 2-7 folks for the main team. Hard mode would be extra fun. :)
