Why do they do this to us? They take down the forums at the same time the game isn't available! What are the addicts supposed to do?

I like to cruise the forums at work from time to time, and Tuesdays used to be the best day to showcase all my brilliant ideas, due to all the people who were on the forums while the game was down. Now they've taken that away from me!

Anyway, I was watching football the other day, and was wondering if it would be possible for people to play a football game in WoW. I determined that it could, potentially. Then the ideas started to flow:

Horde vs. Alliance on a pvp server of course. Teams in different vent channels. Teams cannot attack each other until the play starts.

Any player could be the QB, using a [Heavy Leather Ball].

Rogues, druids, or any other players with speed boosts would be running backs, safety, etc. (No stealthing allowed)

Players with stuns could be offensive/defensive lines.

The center would start out with the ball, the QB /say-ing plays macroed to their hotbar. On /say "Hike!" the center snaps the ball, and the pvp begins.

I had a lot of fun as I lay on the couch, farming mats, and watching the Browns lose. Making up football in WoW was lots of fun.

Not that it will ever happen, but what are some other ideas you guys can think of when it comes to football in WoW?
 
Well... it's a smaller arena, but we could have 2 groups of alliance even and do it in the Gurubashi or Nagrand or Blade's Edge arena... but if any horde/alliance came in and tried to mess with us, we'd have to stop the game and promptly kill them... a little pvp never hurt:D.
 
Hmmm PvP & Football all in one game? Somebody pinch me because this would be a dream come true. My team will be The Booty Bay Bucaneers. :-)

Ohhh, team names sound fun too! It's kind of cool how many NFL teams can be fit into WoW.

Let's see...

Raiders, Titans, Eagles, Buccaneers, Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Colts, Jaguars, Giants, Rams, Bears, Lions, Vikings, Falcons, Panthers, and Saints!

All of those are found someplace in WoW.

My team would be all gnomes, and would be named something like Ironforge Tinkerers, until we reclaim our home city...
 
Warsong Gultch is basically football: get the flag/ball into the endzone. Take down the flag/ball carrier. =)
