Back by popular demand (ok, I know 2 people that want to go)
If we have enough interested folks I'd like to lead a FOW Clear this Saturday starting at 8:30pm EST.
I'm not too picky. I'll accept any profession. You can come as an Ursan or not. Consets are NOT required. I've cleared several times with a balanced group so you can tell all those Ursan snobs that it is possible without 6 bears and a conset.
Now, don't get the wrong idea. This isn't a run. Anyone is welcome, but you must contribute to the team. With that in mind I do have some joining requirements:
1. You must have Temple of Ages. If you need a run, contact me.
2. You must be Level 20, ascended and have all your attribute points.
3. Please try to run one of the builds listed below. If you absolutely can't, then contact me and we'll figure out something. I'm willing to help you cap an elite or suggest alternates that may work on one of the chars.
4. Teamspeak. I strongly prefer that you have teamspeak. If you don't, you can still go but you'll probably feel left out of most of the communication. You don't need a mic. Just being able to listen will help a lot.
So, what do you need? I'd like to take 2 healers (don't have to be monks) and at least 2 Elementalists. The rest is open:
Warriors: I prefer not to bring tanks. They tend to slow down the runs. You can bring Ursan or a nice damage dealer. Pretty much any basic warrior build. Don't bring monk heals. Don't overaggro. And don't expect to be able to ball up all the enemies on you like a tank. I'll be playing an Elementalist with Savannah Heat so it doesn't work.
Rangers: Barrage is great or you can bring a strong interrupter build. I only ask that you don't bring a pet.
Elementalists: I love eles. Rain down fire from Heaven and burn 'em up. I like Savannah Heat. As an ele though you have a lot of options. Savannah Heat, Searing Flames, Mind Blast all work well or you could become a water snare ele. If enough of the Ele's prefer Searing Flames, I'll switch to that. Multiple SF eles are great.
Mesmers: I don't know a lot about mesmers. You can be a fast casting nuker or a general chaos interrupter. If you want to bring a mesmer and you know your profession well we'll find a place for you.
Necromancers: A Necro is always welcome. I've found that MMs don't work as well in FOW as some other builds. A battery necro for the monks is nice or an SS necro. If we're short a monk then a Necro/Rit healer is great.
Monks: We won't get far without monks. I'd like 1 healing monk and 1 prot monk. A bonder is fine as long as you don't slow down the group re-bonding after each mob. If enough folks come as Ursan however, i'd strongly recommend against bonds.
Assassins: Lots of possibilities here for a competent assassin. (Note the word "Competent"!) You could go with a Critical barrage build and be a ranger. You could play the typical dash in - kill - dash out ninja or if you like you could bring the new Perma Shadowform build. If you are skilled with shadowform and can solo a few of the areas then you'll save the team alot of time on the clear.
Ritualists: Always nice to have a rit healer along. They are great substitutes for monks. I'd avoid a spirit spammer build since I tend to move fast thru the areas and the spirits will be left behind. Anything else is fine.
Dervish: Again, I dislike melee characters. I'd rather not take a dervish. If that's all you have though then please join us. We'll take ya. (We'll just kick the wammo in your spot
)
Paragon: LOL, i know almost nothing about paragons. Bring one and show me what you can do.
So that's it. Who's up for it? I plan to start as close to 8:30 as possible. If we don't have a full group we'll fill in with heroes. If we have more than 8 then we'll take a balanced group and I'll run a 2nd trip (probably not the same night) for anyone else that is left behind.
Oh one last question: Hard mode or Normal mode? Vote on your preference and majority rules.
