Gerbil's Old Movie Recommendations

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Linky

A movie which, unfortunately, remains as relevant today as the day it was made with it's depiction of government. Of course it differs from reality in having a happy ending while our fate is still up in the air. With an all star cast of superb actors, excellent moral plot, and actual mentioning of God it should be a requirement to be shown in every school. Rarely does my family give a perfect score to a movie on Netflix but it earns it in spades. Tired of modern "entertainment" (and I use that word loosely) than watch this before it expires on instant Netflix on January 1st hence my posting (hopefully Netflix will have the sense to renew it but they've been phasing out old movies for garbage so I won't hold my breath).

I'll second that recommendation. General Jimmy Stewart was a fine actor from the get go, and only improved through the years. The last 15 mins of the film is powerful indeed.
