Gifts to forum members

Saint Nicholas

New Member
I'm not one of those secular Santa's so first off Happy Birthday Jesus :) !

Now I've got a couple gifts for forum people. I digitally paint and figured I'd practice and make some Avatars/art for CGA members at the same time. Each is free for the person I painted it for, for any NON-commercial, honorable, purpose. I chose people based on if their forum name or avatar picture inspired something, so which people get art is somewhat random (although there are other reasons for certain choices). If you don't like the pictures you need not use them, no pressure. For those who get caricatures of themselves please pm your eye color and I will change them to match as I could not identify eye color from pictures posted here and may not have it correct. If you want a higher res image I can provide that as well. Spoiler reveals who the picture is for and the small ones should be web ready to upload for avatars.

Title: Caught catching
For: Ember

Ah ha! Concealing your face in all the pictures taken of you did not work! We all know you are in fact an Anime Catgirl :p Seriously I saw your avatar was anime and could not resist drawing a kawaii neko-mimi idea I've had for a while. BTW I haven't got Tek's finished (it will be awhile)... but maybe Tek will enjoy this one more than his anyway :p

Title: The Dr. is 1337
For: Kranic

Kranic must have just pwn'ed someone in UT because he's awfully happy. I think he goes by Landslide a lot more than Kranic, but, the name Kranic inspires visions of a crazy mad Dr. to me. So people know I over painted a photo of him for this as it was in the perfect pose and would have greater likeness than I could do (this will be my first and last over painting though as I eschew doing anything but completely original artwork).
Sorry I only got these 2 done. My painting speed is negative warp 9 so It may be a while before I get more pieces complete. I plan on doing a spray for TOJ as well but please don't quote me on it as things change. Anyway it will be a few weeks between pieces at the very least.

For those who are wondering I am in fact not Saint Nick (/plays drums, dum, dum, DUM!) I'm using a alternate account from my main CGA one. A secret identity makes this more exciting and people can have fun guessing it :) ...Although there is a way to discover my real identity (and no it's not hidden in the pictures).
Merry Christmas!

dude those are amazingly l337. I really love people who can do this stuff since i dont have an inkling of creativity.

Hehe aww, wow those are really impressive! Thanks!

(I've been searching the forums for pictures trying to figure out how you know what I look like. I also couldn't figure out what you meant by concealing my face...but then I found this photo in the thread from when we got our Wii.)

I don't know what is worst. The threat of impending bombardment via infrared rays or the trembling of the tv in the background as you picked up the wiimote without the strap. (sorry bad pun)

The TV didn't have much to worry about since the Wii wasn't hooked up and I wasn't pointing it at the TV.

The husband taking the picture, on the other hand, might have had reason to tremble....

;)

The camera might have been a little scared :P

Tek probably would enjoy you accidentally beating him up with a wiimote, no guarantees though.

Cutest. Avatar. Ever.

I am awaiting my shiny new avatar with eager anticipation.

You all don't know just how true that is until you've seen her shoot zombies.

When Pfizer releases the new T-virus and the zombies come for us, all I need is an assault shotgun and my wife by my side.

Nah, I'm allergic to pain. I break out in, well, pain. It's an unpleasant reaction, I assure you.

Sure, I could use my Mighty Admin Powers(TM) to confirm my guess, but what fun is that? I'll hush for now and let the mystery of the gift remain.

Haha, nice! Those are nifty, thanks man!
Why do people assume that an anonymous figure on the Internet is always male?

Pfft, just think, you might develop an immunity :P

Why do people assume that an anonymous figure on the Internet is always male?
Any anonymous figure is assumed male because that is the default stereotype for any person ingrained into our society. Since men were the prominent social figures for thousands of years people still assume that. Plus you can sorta argue that "thanks man!" and "dude" is sorta ambiguous as there is no equivalent of the opposite sex. You don't say "thanks woman!", it is almost derogatory depending on context. Add all that into the idea that St. Nicholas is almost always described as a man.

I accidentally beat him up all the time, but the wiimote has yet to become my weapon. Those things are expensive! :p

Seriously though, I manage to inadvertently injure him at least once a day. He's starting to think it's deliberate, but I promise it's not!

you just have to be deliberate yet look like it is an accident. Most people fail because they can't fall through with the unanimity of the situation.
