Glint's Challenge

Abba San

Legacy of Elijah [LoE] - Proud Grandfather
I know I have read comments on Glint's Challenge - but I couldn't find them anywhere.

Next up for me is getting HoM armor for my EotN heroes.

Any clues or hints to getting through Glint's Challenge? (I know to switch my fire Ele to cold - take anti-destroyer skills - dwarven title)

Anyone available to show me this evening - 11-10-10 - 6-8 PST?

I may be able to help. I read an article someplace (I don't remember where) that said it was possible with h/h. Fire Walker and I teamed up and tried it and failed miserably. However next we each decided to go by ourselves and won more times than not.

Both of us used the same builds. We were SoS spirit spammers. Discord Necro trio. Henchies were the 2 monks, Herta and Lo Sha.

Thanks - I'll look fore you when I go online.

I'm going to put together a cold damage build for my Elementalist and bring my Spiritway heroes.

I really need this also. I would love to come if there's room. I tried it a few times a while ago, but was unsuccessful to say the least.

Thank you - everyone who participated - especially our alliance friends at WWJD.

All together there were four of us from SOE - Raven - Chile Jay - Karma Kaybee - Abba Lahav - and three from WWJD - Dark Blue - Gideon - Rusty Blade - in various combinations. (Did I leave someone out?)

That was so much fun - five straight runs - well...six if you count the time we got clobbered. Ended up with five Cloth of the Brotherhood and 19 Destroyer Cores. All in all a real fun evening.

Yeah, thanks for letting me tag along last night. It was so much fun, and my heroes are looking really good.

Hey, I just made a couple runs on Mysterious Armor Fragments in the Shadow Nexus... First shot I got 2, second two times goose eggs.

It wasn't nearly as hard as I expected (up until I died) and it was pretty fun. Plus I got new clothes for Olias who has certainly earned it.

If anyone is interested in taking a shot at it, look me up. I'd be happy to go at it again.

Personally, I've spent too much time for my taste in the shadow nexus. I was hoping to avoid it to get my last armor piece for last identity-crisis hero Zenmai by finishing Mallyx, but no such luck. A couple red-rock candies and some other personal consumables later, and I managed to get that last piece just moments before the dreaded green bar filled up (over 2 runs).

For those running challenge quests in nightfall, here's a helpful hint: the more pieces of armor a character has acquired in a challenge mission, the fewer will drop for that character. So if you have an alt who has access to a mission where you're struggling for that last piece or two, run a new/different character and save yourself a lot of time and aggrivation. This of course would not apply to glint's challenge or duncan the black in eye of the north.

I'd be more than happy to do Glints or other challenge missions with anyone; I think it's fun and could use extra to sell. I also think it might be worth looking into PUGs. I might've been very lucky, but managed 8/8 with PUGs for the pieces I needed.

I think optimal it's good to have a tank or MM on each side, lots of AoE, some Save Yourselves, SoS, etc. Really you just need two decent teams, and if you stay closer to the middle you can help each other out.

I also have a mysterious remnant for 4k, sunspear 4k, or 2 primeval for 8k if anyone wants. :)

Message me in-game if you're looking for someone to do this with; I'm usually on after 8pm central.

Thanks, Ryan - with Raven's help I actually got to where I could solo - with heroes and henchies - and do just fine. A water build with an Ice Imp summons got the job done pretty consistently.

Yuppers, saw that, but figured more folks will be looking for this eventually. Good job on clobbering those nasty destroyers. :)

It's funny how something seems impossible to survive - until you learn how to do it. Then you laugh about how you used to view it. That happens in life, too.

lol, yeah I remembered when Fire Walker and I first started playing. Factions was our first campaign and we can still remember struggling with Captured Son. We both had 60 DP and kept running back in trying to kill just 1 more Crimson Skull before wiping again.

Now, we think the quest is a joke and laugh about how we used to consider it "hard". Even with low level characters around lvl 10 or 11, it's a piece of cake to finish.
